Our Captain this week will be Captain Trond Holm, while the Cruise Director is Paul Rutter

Bon Voyage, Radio! I always love your Live posts!

Paul was scheduled to handover CD duties to Rich Edwards today. I guess there was a delay??? If you hear any more information about how much longer Paul will be onboard, or when Rich (or someone else) will be coming onboard, please let me know!

Bon Voyage !!!

Looking forward to another of your excellent reviews. This one will have special import to us since we will be sailing on Grandeur (9 nights leaving 22 December), albeit with a different itinerary. Our last sailing on Grandeur was back in December of 2006. It will be interesting to hear about her more recent changes.

Thank you for making the time to do this.

Isn't the Dec 22 cruise 12 days?

Hello everyone . . . Good morning. Welcome to DAY 2 of “LIVE” from Grandeur of the Seas.

Who could have guessed that I woke up very early this morning? (3AM)There was coffee available in the Diamond Club (Deck 6) and Concierge Lounge (Deck 11). I would not have guessed that the Diamond Lounge would refrigerate non dairy creamer. What the ? Who in the ? Well I guess now that non dairy supplies have a different shelf life. . . Later in the morning I went to the CL for some delicious coffee . . . and then down to the Windjammer to get some Half and Half.

It is raining pretty hard this morning, and the forecast has suggested that most of the day will be cloudy and rainy. Captain Holm announced that we will be staying close to shore to avoid a big storm that will be in the area of our transit. We are currently off the coast of Kitty Hawk, NC. We are moving fast (22.5 kts) and I am sure that the Captain want to get Grandeur to the Florida coast as soon as possible. My cabin was comfortable and very quiet last night. I usually have a balcony on Grandeur, but it wasn’t in the cards for this trip. My Oceanview cabin will work fine, and I like the mattress as it made me sleep like a baby.

Today there are a lot of things to do including the Meet and Mingle later this morning and the Port Shopping talk this afternoon. Many of the pool deck activities will be moved inside and the Captains Welcome aboard celebration will be at 7 AM.

I had a very nice dinner last night at Chops Grille with some Cruise Critic friends, and tonight I will try Giovanni’s Table. Here are a few pics from this morning. Thanks for tuning in !

Radio,

Thanks for doing the live report. It may not be as cold here on the left coast but it will still be great to see someone enjoying warm weather.

Also appreciate all your donations to my employer Starbucks. Thanks to you my stocks are going up and I can cruise more often. [emoji2]

Can't tell from your above picture, does the shower in your cabin bathroom have the 'attacking' shower curtain or the time capsule portal?

I have the standard shower curtain . . .

Hello Radio,

Besides the shows, what are the musical groups this trip? We were wondering if the Evergreens will be playing for our cruise on January 24.

Have a great trip.

The Evergreen Trio was dumped by RC back in May or June shortly after having dinner with the captain. :(
