Bathing Baby on Constellation?

Hi everyone,

Suggestions on bathing a baby (8 months old) on the Constellation? The sinks will be too small and shallow and my plan now is to sit her in the shower and use the hand held shower head, or just going in with her lol.

Thank you!

Couple on our last cruise had the same problem. They flew into Fort Lauderdale a day early and bought a cheap plastic washing up bowl they filled in the shower and then kneeled to bathe baby. Their baby was a bit younger, you would have to look at the size......On boarding they had filled it with sodas and water and just attached a luggage tag...Did not bother taking home!

Also may be worth looking in camping shops....

Another alternative is to contact special needs and see if they have anything on board! Good Luck!

I never cruised with my kids as infants but we did travel with them (including camping) and they did have some baths in plastic dish pans (we jokingly called them 'bucket baths'). Unless you have tried it at home with great success, I'd be hesitant to trust showering. Many infants hate being sprayed with water.

Since you could fill it with babies clothes and then back around it, it really wouldn't take up that much volume in your suitcase.

Try an inflatable baby bath... We use one at our home when the grand babies visit. Blow it up, use it in the bottom of the shower filling it with shower water, drain and hang up until needed again. They don't cost much, so leave it there when the cruise is over. 😉

We never cruised with our kids when they were that small, but did a lot of travel and camping. We just did a shower wash, it took the two of us, but on would go in the shower with the little one, and hold them moving them in and out of the flow of the shower head (detachable heads were few and far between). The other would do the actual washing, the one in the shower the rinsing and then hand off for drying. The first couple times were a challenge, after that the little folks LOVED it.

Of course our youngest is about to turn 22, so this was quite a while ago, so that technique might be frowned upon now, but it worked for us.
