Host Andy - Live From Azamara Journey !

Well, as many thousands of miles as my little cammo travel pillow has gone with me, I went to Amazon today and ordered a prettier one just in case I also find the dining room chairs too deep. I am tall, but the pillow is inexpensive and doesn't take up very much space at all. I just thought cammo (which was the only color available when I bought mine) might be out of place on Azamara.

Andy, aren't there USB sockets by the bed? Thought I read there was and hope so. Perfect for charging phones and iPad with no need for an adaptor.

Phil

Hi Phil,

Just to confirm, the USB sockets are in the Club Continent Suites. As Uktog mentioned, they're not easy to spot, but our Cruise Critic members will be in the know.

On the CC suites they are under the bedside light fittings (well they were in the mocked up room). Mind not easy to spot if no one tells you

And, are there electric outlets by the beds in the CC Suites for C-Pap and other electric items???

Thanks,

Andy, first of all thanks for your funny information about AmazingEvening.

We will have the same one and we will see, if they will change something.

Second: I have the same question than rallydave about outlets close to the bed, because I also have to use a C-Pap.

It´s so uncomfortable when you have an extender cable through the whole cabin, especially during the night.

One thing I also remember, that the lightning for the bed was assembled on the bedsite cabinet and there was not enough space for the C-Pap. So I had to put the small table close to the bed, which was also difficult during the night.

But I know that you have a suite and you don´t know how the situation is in an outside cabin, but maybe you can ask.

Have a safe trip home and enjoy the rest of the cruise.

In the example room on Quest we stayed in last month (verandah) there were sockets by the bed just above the bedside units, really handy also for charging phones that we also use as alarms (never could programme Azamaras clocks!)

Thanks very much for the advice about special dining options and at the moment after hearing the great meals Host Andy and his family have had at Prime C, I am thinking that might be the place for my birthday dinner

Thanks also Grandma Cruisingfor the great information on ports we will go to on our cruise. This certainly adds to our anticipation.

Have a wonderful last few days Host Andy and once again thank for your hard work. You are a gem 😊:😆

Hi Andy,

I have posted this question on another thread, but I am not sure if the administrator is still responding.

Could you give us an update on the current status of the self-service laundry machines on board? Are they operational yet?

Also, are the CWO suites finished? I really hope so!:)

Thanks and enjoy your cruise.

Hi Leesre

I think you'll find that Andy will post his pictures once he's home rather than try to post them whilst on board. It's very easy to use up your internet allowance whilst on board trying to post many pictures. They will be worth the wait.:)

Hi Everyone,

As mentioned in an earlier post, for reasons unknown, I'm having problems sizing my photos to fit within our post requirements. Each photo would have to be resized. As much as I'd love to post them now, it's just too time consuming and internet time consuming.

Rest assured, I have plenty of photos, and will figure it out, when I return home on Sunday.

Hard to imagine, but our wonderful Journey will be coming to an end on Sunday :-(

I have updates on the Laundry and Suites, and will post shortly. Please stay tuned.

Hi Everyone,

Here's the latest information on the questions asked :

Laundry : Unfortunately, still not working yet, but they are hoping to have it working by Miami, or shortly thereafter.

Club Ocean Suites (the forward suites) : 2 are now ready, the other 2 should be ready by Miami. BTW, I saw one of the suites this morning, and it's absolutely gorgeous. If you are booked in them, I'm confident you will be very pleased. If not ? I highly recommend considering them for your next sailing. I have about 10 photos, and will post them on this thread, on Sunday.

Spa Suites : The plan is to have them ready by Miami, or shortly thereafter.

Club World Ocean Suites : None of the 6 are currently ready. It does not sound as if they will be ready by Miami, but they are working very hard, and I'm hearing that additional workers will be boarding in Miami, solely to work on the CW suites. I think part of the problem is that some of the items did not make the ship when it was in Drydock. If I hear anything further, I will post on this thread.

Casino : A team from Royal Caribbean will be onboard Sunday AM, and should have the ticket issue resolved by departure time.

Hope this is helpful !

Speaking of clocks, I hope they have user friendly clocks.

Hi Midwestchick,

I think the clock is fine, and there's an instruction sheet, if you need it. If all else fails, you can always call Guest Relations for a wake up call :)

Hope this helps !

Are they the same clocks they had before or did they they replace them? Even Johannes disliked the clocks they had. :D

Hi Midwestchick,

As we have not sailed with Azamara in nearly 5 years, I'm unsure if they are the same clocks.

If they are simple to alter they are new, but if they need a degree in advanced technology and come with a laminated set of instructions they are old!;)

Phil

That's for sure.

Andy, if you think of it, would you please find out if they are new, otherwise I'm packing my own.

Nancy, even if they are the same there is nothing to say these small items like this won't come on the ship later. If they stay speak to your cabin steward and ask him/her to change them for you. I actually quite like having the temperature on them and the time display is big. I think I might miss them!

Andy - have you been to the LCV party yet - Johannes usually tells the clock story and I am sure if they had changed, he would also talk about it. Last time we sailed with him he had told the designers to keep the same clocks (I will not surprise the story as to why)

Thanks Andy - I'm glad you've had a good trip despite spending so much time finding things out for all of us! It has been lovely following 'the journey of the Journey' over the past few weeks via your frequent posts. Have a safe trip home - and I look forward to seeing your photos.

With thanks,

Elizabeth
