After dinner Patti went back to the cabin, and I went to the Casino Royale to play some blackjack. I wound up getting killed tonight, losing everything that I had won so far. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

It’s time to head back to the cabin to go to bed. Here is tonight’s turndown service…..

Welcome to Nassau! This is going to be a fairly long segment, which will take 25 posts, and about 150 pictures to complete. It may take a couple of days to complete, so please be patient.

CF478.jpg

We were up at 7:30, and according to the bow camera view on our television we were already docked in Nassau…….

CF479.JPG

Patti and I have been here in Nassau so many times, on both land and sea vacations, that we have lost count. We have done just about everything there is of interest to do in Nassau, so now we have been checking out the resorts that have day passes. On our last cruise here aboard the Carnival Splendor last June, we checked out the nearby British Colonial Hilton. A review and pictures from that experience can be found on that Splendor review.

This time, we have purchased day passes to the Breezes resort on Cable Beach. Much more on that will be coming up later in this segment.

We made our way up to the Coconut Grove for a light breakfast. Once up there, we could see the Disney Dream backing into her berth across the way…..

Once outside the gate, we arranged for a cab to take us to the Breezes Resort on Cable Beach. The fare for just the two of us in the cab was $22. If we had shared the cab it would have been $15, but since we wanted to get there as soon as possible, we told the driver to go ahead and go.

On the way over to Breezes Patti took a few pictures. Here is the sign for Fat Tuesday. It is located just before you get to Junkanoo Beach…..

The grounds at Breezes are nicely landscaped…..

Here is the open aired lobby where the front desk is located. This is where we checked in. We reserved our passes online. The cost was $85 per person, all inclusive, with a $20 deposit required at the time of booking. You pay your balance when you check in, credit card only, and you are given a wristband. Everything on the grounds is at your disposal. One more thing, the day pass hours are from 10am until 6pm.…..

This is a view looking over towards Balmoral Island. Carnival sells many different types of excursions going here. We’ll probably give this a shot one time in the future, but the reviews are not very encouraging, mostly concerning the length of time you get to be there, and the long, slow boat ride out there. We were there years ago when it was called Blackbeard’s Island and we enjoyed it.…..

Here is another awesome Patti beach view…..

CF568.JPG

Patti caught me relaxing between swims, drinking Kalik’s, (Bahamian Beer). They give it to you in 8 oz. cups, but they will give you as many as you can carry. I’ve got a nice little stack of cups growing on the table…..

CF570.JPG

Patti only had two Bahama Mama’s because she said they were super strong!!

Here is the Beach Grill. They had a really good menu which included all types of salads, burgers, hot dogs, fish, jerked chicken, just to name a few…...

CF571.JPG

You had a choice of eating here or at the buffet, or even both! We chose to check out the buffet. On the way to the buffet we passed the Pelican Bar, which looked like a good place to hang out at night……

These are some great pictures. We will definitely consider doing this the next time we go to Nassau. We did Balmoral Island on our Valor B2B cruise last year and I was not impressed. The water was nice but everything was so expensive on the island. It was also very crowded and the WiFi never worked either.

Jamman I am loving the review! It is so nice to see Breezes, and I recognized it immediately as the hotel I spent a week at back in the 90's. I believe it was a Wyndham hotel back then. Building still looks the same, but pool has been enlarged and looks awesome. I used to vacation fairly often in Nassau back then, but only got to revisit on my Freedom cruise in 2014. Cable beach sure has been built up since my early visits there.

By the way, that yacht Laurel. I googled it and you can charter it for a week for the price of 525.000!!! One can only dream:)

Thanks again for the review.

We stayed at Breezes until 2:30pm. The Fascination wasn’t sailing until 5pm, but we wanted to make sure we gave ourselves plenty of time to get back. The cab ride only takes about 20 minutes.

We both really liked the Breezes resort. Plenty to drink, and all you could possibly eat. Most of the pictures taken by Patti were taken before noon, and you might get the impression that the place was deserted. But let me tell you, about noon, when all of the spring breakers got up after a late night of partying, the place was jumping. They had plenty of bartenders, so there really wasn’t a wait to get a drink.

Patti still prefers the British Colonial Hilton, mostly because it’s within walking distance to the ships. For me, I prefer Breezes.

We got a cab back to the pier, and because we shared with another family, the fare for the both of us was $15.

At first, Patti thought that she would do a bit of shopping, but then decided just to go back to the ship. There was a bit of a line to get through the check point, but it moved fairly quickly.

Once on the pier, Patti got a close up of Goofy on the stern of the Disney Magic…..

Your reviews are always great to read! Thank you for doing these reviews for us.

Next month we will be in Nassau between 8am thru 11:59pm and we are considering going to the Breezes Resort since we have a whole day at this port.

Can you just walk into the resort and pay for a day pass or do you have to reserve it online?

really need a cab to get there is several miles, the Hilton and or junkanoo beach are the beachy things many people walk to

I know the Hilton has packages, and junkanoo is a pubic beach.

here is a map link that may work, otherwise just seach for breezes Nassau and look for it on a map in the search engine
