I love all your reviews. Like you, we arent loyal to one brand and Im always happy if you sail a ship prior to me so I can read your review!

I remember when you booked this cruise since I was disappointed that I would sail Breeze before you lol. We had a spa cabin and loved our experience on the Breeze. I had to twist my mothers arm to try Carnival but she loved it too. We loved it so much that we booked the Vista Havana Cabana suite for February 2018. Leaving my family at home and just sailing with my mom on that one. Maybe you can sail Vista before February 2018 please lol

You are correct, the metal door is there on the balcony in case there is very bad weather they will close off your use to the balcony. I only remember reading once or twice maybe they closed it when the Dream first sailed although, I do get amnesia lol

I am back in Miami next February for the Getaway and was looking forward to read where you stayed but think Im going to pass although your place sounded in a convenient location and looked clean.

Cant wait to read more and need to go see if I already read your Getaway review. Hope I didnt so I can start at work tomorrow.

After your Jade review I felt brave enough to try the Jade. We have always sailed Holland America and have been on almost all of their smaller ships. We sail away in six days on the Jade.

We are looking forward to seeing how the Breeze is before trying such a large ship. What is a cove balcony? How is it different from a normal balcony? We are so used to ships with around 1k passengers so this is all new to us. You explain it so well.

Now if we can just be sure not to have the room steward from "h" when we are on the Jade we will enjoy all we learned from your other reviews.

As usual you are doing great. I am not sure I would want a cave above my balcony either.

Hi Kim!!

I'm so excited that you are getting this review started, I was hoping that you would be back and writing before I left for my cruise (20 days, but who's counting)!

Although I'm not on the Breeze, I am going out of Ft. Lauderdale, and so far your hotel/shuttle tips are coming in VERY handy.

Looking forward to the rest, and here's hoping that you had a better cabin attendant than last time.

Your fellow water hating pop addicted nurse,

Stacey

I LOOOOOOVE your reviews. Not that others aren't good, but you travel with a child that's the same age group as mine and that makes a difference to me! We sail on Magic for Christmas and thanks to your past reviews, my excursions for that trip are just about planned (I even sent emails to the cavetubing folks at .com and .bz to see why they feel they are better than the other). Thank you so very much! I think we may try NCL for next Christmas. Would love to cruise next spring break but we have to go to Jamaica to visit family:mad: If only I could get my son to be as adventurous as your daughter, I'd have the perfect vacation companion!

Subscribing, I love your reviews! I'm sorry you had all those mishaps but hope your cruise went well after that.

I'm such a cruise addict, I have gone from one cruise a year to two now, and maybe someday I'll up it to 3! LOL

Christina

Yea! I have also anxiously awaited your review! The only experience I have with Carnival is with the Sensation about 4 years ago. It was the only one that worked with our 25th anniversary time frame and only our 2nd cruise. Our first was on the DCL Dream. The next was on RCCL and then on the Getaway. We were so disappointed with the Sensation and made me wonder if that was the norm on Carnival. We love NCL so much, we are sailing on our 2nd Trip on the Getaway in June since the Escape had the same basic itinerary as our last Getaway trip. Your review may just make us give Carnival another try. I can't wait to experience your cruise through your report.

Aww, sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience on the Sensation. Was it the ship itself or the crew? Just wondering. We have only sailed the ships that I feel have a lot of "goodies" on it...the bigger ships or water parks, Guys Burgers and so on. I haven't been on the older "plain" ships yet, so hard to compare. We love NCL too, but are running out of options at this point (I try not to sail the same ship) and with so many changes over the last year with the new CEO...well, I'm really not liking him.

Do you use Microsoft Word to type out your review?

If not, I would highly recommend it, since it automatically saves your documents and can even recover your lost documents in case of accidental closures.

No, I do not and honestly, that isn't going to matter. I was typing in word last night, working on my homework due last night, and every time it happened, it didn't save a thing. This happened about 4 times in a matter of 1 hour and I was so frustrated. We went yesterday to get me a new computer and believe it or not, the salesman was super cool and was telling us steps to go through when we get home to figure out why my computer is doing this (it has been doing it for about 2 years, but it's just getting worse) instead of buying a new one. We decided to try what he said...now I just wish I would have purchased the new computer instead because it's still doing it. :(

CC really needs to add a follow button in the app... Following! Because I love your reviews :-)

Since they've changed it around, you have to hit the STAR on the main page. I can't find a subscribe button once you are in the thread on the app anymore. When you click that star, it will turn yellow and that subscribes you. I liked it better when you could subscribe while you were reading the reviews.

Subscribing to this awesome, detailed thread! Can't wait. Think we will be trying either the Breeze or Vista soon. Anxious and excited for those who will have been on both to compare them!

Aww thanks and glad to have you. Hopefully Vista is in my future. :D

Loving your review! We were on the Breeze last fall and absolutely loved it!! :)

She's a beauty!

Glad to have ya!

yay! So excited I found your next review!!! Sounds like a great start minus the missing make up bag! Yay to a towel animal the first night and no sticky shower curtain!!!

Do they normally do a towel animal on the first night? I swore they did not, but thought maybe I was just getting it confused with the last night?

Loving the review!! That is my son in the first picture of the buffet in the red shirt.

Haha, isn't it fun to find pictures of yourself or family around the ship that someone else caught? I remember this happening on my Pride cruise last year with Jammans wife. It was like we were cruising together. LOL :p

I'm pretty sure there's a good chance of me sailing the Vista before Feb 2018, but we'll see. :D I haven't even looked at prices yet.

So the door on my balcony will get closed if we had bad weather...and I'll be safe from the water coming in, but everyone else in the same row will drown? LOL Because I'm the only one that had a door like that and then the steps that led up above in the hole. While I'm sure it does seal off to keep water out, why would it only go to my door/balcony? I'm so confused.

Great review! We will be on theBreeze in July so I am looking forward to the rest.

I hope you have a wonderful time on the Jade. The thing about that class of ships, it's not as big as the newer ships (Getaway, Breakaway, Escape, Epic) and it will not feel as crowded (since you are use to a smaller amount of passengers). You could possibly try the Sun or Sky (although Sky is a short cruise) because they are even smaller and more relaxed and I felt like there were hardly even any passengers on the Sun when we went. LOL

A cove balcony is just shaped different than a normal balcony. There's an edging around it instead of all open. A regular balcony usually doesn't have a "roof" over it and a cove does. It makes it feel more private and enclosed. If you like to sit outside and want to avoid the hot sun, this gives you protection. It also keep the wind down and you can sit out there and read or have a can of pop and it won't even blow over (even after it's empty). The neighbors can't really peep around the corner either. :D

Here's a picture, from the outside, of a cove balcony

Yay!!! I can't wait to read this. I love all your reviews but this will be extra special as its a ship I have sailed on!!! I loved her and assume you will too!!!

Glad to have you here. :)

Ahhh. I miss the breeze. We talked a bit on the port of call boards since we were both going on the breeze and had the same itinerary. Can't wait to read about where you went on the islands.

It was a great itinerary and we had a blast. :D

Yea, I wouldn't recommend the hotel we stayed at this time around. I mean it was "ok", but not a place I would stay in again. Even thought it was redone, it still appeared "old" and with the issues at breakfast and the slow elevators, then to top it off with them giving away a room already paid for...ugh. Not good in my book. :(

...and BTW, hello again fellow water hating pop addicted nurse Stacey!!! :D

Yea, it's so much easier to relate if the review kinda reminds you of your traveling needs, what you like to do...then especially with a kid. My only problem is that when I am able to find another review with a child, even around her age, I can never find one that is as adventurous as she is, so the families never seem to do the "adult" kind of excursions like we're able to do.

I would REALLY love to hear what .com and .bz tell you when they respond to that question. :p

Spring Break, visiting family in Jamaica, hmmm, I'm sure you'll find plenty to do there. :D

Following!!!

Thanks

That is odd that the Kids club wasn't open on the first night- I seem to remember the Teen Club (Club 02) being open on night one...was there a Welcome Aboard Show? :)

Carnival never has the kids club open on the first night. You can go sign up, but no drop offs. So...I never get my casino fix for the first night. :p :( I'm really not sure why they are like this. NCL is open the first night.

I'm sure they probably did have a Welcome Aboard Show, but we did not attend.
