Going back to this years stop in Kusadasi for Journey, there is a post on the Celebrity board from someone who is on Reflection in Kusadasi:

Reflection in Kusadasi today

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2385548

Looks like everything is pretty normal with most ships completing their scheduled stops, baring any further disruption in Turkey it looks like we will possibly have an enjoyable stay there.

We are off the July 5th cruise, but hopefully getting on the one for June 21st for the Greek Islands. My only concern with the $500 OBC is it restricted only to Shore Excursions as our $300 is? Or can we use them for dinning, booze, spa, or shopping?

We still really want to go on Azamara!

Okay we moved to June 21, 2017 and we hope interior cabin 6011 is okay :)

Do not plan on spending so much time there, and we are good with the $500 extra OBC that we can use for anything , except for the casino which is understandable.

I'm glad some of you are finding replacement itineraries with Azamara. No such luck for me, but I'm happy with a great itinerary in aqua class with Celebrity. In any case, the July 14 Quest cruise itinerary is butchered with three overnights in Venice. On an eight night cruise, three of those nights are in Venice. Again, this is the result of Azamara being a little too slow on the draw in securing alternative ports.

I assume the multiple nights in Venice are to allow guests to enjoy the Redentore Festival which takes place there on July 15th & 16th in 2017. I can understand why some people would not enjoy that, but I wouldn't call it butchered as I also expect that this could be quite a potential draw to others (and indeed Azamara is doing the same thing in 2018).

Doubtful since it wasn't on the original itinerary and it would be just as easy and less expensive finding a hotel in Venice with an ocean or canal view as opposed to vacationing from a standing ship. I'll stick with butchered.

Just googled this festival - it looks amazing! We're now looking at this cruise, but may wait and see until the last minute as its not on the offer at present.

I still remember, from some years ago, being out on the lagoon in a small boat, listening to Vivaldi being played in St. Mark's Square, and watching the fireworks display overhead.

I have a question for Bonnie. Can we take the June 22 sailing for our original 14 days at the booked price? I know AZ divided it into two sailings but together, they are the same amount of time on the same days.

assume you mean July - that's what I want too - otherwise it's bye bye Azamara , hello Oceania !

Hi Cruise Crew, My TA worked with AZ and they did offer both the July 22 and 29 sailings for the same price with a bunch of onboard credit. Good deal and we took it immediately!!!! We are really happy. I spent quite a bit of time on the French Riveria a few years ago but DH has never been. The b2b gives an overnight in Barcelona too. I still wish I had three days on the Amalfi coast but it's a good excuse to go back!!!

The 2016 visit to Kusadasi is still as scheduled. Here is the statement:

"As always, the safety of our guests and crew members is our top priority. At this time, we are not making any modifications to any upcoming sailings to Kusadasi, Turkey. We have one remaining visit for the year. Our Global Security team as well as local representatives are advising us that there are no difficulties in this area. Kusadasi is far removed from the hotbed of activity. However, we have alternative ports should this change, that is one of the advantages of the cruise lines. We will continue to closely monitor the changing situation and will contact guests or their travel agents should we make any modifications to upcoming itineraries. For 2017 visits, we will continue to monitor, and will make decisions as necessary. Again keeping guest and crew safe is a key consideration in any destination we travel.

Our next scheduled call to Kusadasi (Ephesus) is onboard the Azamara Journey, which is scheduled in August. All activities planned will be executed."

We have just had a wonderful day touring Ephesus. I am sure glad Azamara did not cancel this port call. Kusadasi is a wonderful port city. We have had no problems whatsoever, other than the famously pushy salesman at the shops. We are looking forward to our Azamazing evening tonight at the Ephesus odeon.

You are very fortunate indeed to have your AzAmazing evening at the Odeon in Ephesus!

This is my favourite of all those we have experienced so far.
