I will be sailing on Anthem on Monday and flying to NYC tomorrow from an unknown place called London, England. I am a solo cruiser with a passion for photography. Would anyone be interested in a live(ish) review of my pre-cruise and cruise experience?

Cool. I will do my best to accommodate. So far all my excursions are privately organised. St Kitts and Martinique are my biggest risks. The cruise is a 12 night Southern Caribbean. Will be willing to take questions, but cannot guarantee any answers.

 

I am travelling Solo and staying in a Balcony room on Deck 10. Double points. I am only a Platinum, and may hit Emerald by the end of the cruise.

 

Am staying at Hilton Penn Station. Am willing to take recommendations for places to eat in NYC. Have heard about Little Italy.

 

I am a vegetarian, so please accept my advanced apology if I don't pay attention to the non-veg menu items.

My flight leaves Heathrow tomorrow morning and arrives in NYC at 13:10 local. I will be interviewed for GOES before making my way to the hotel. I hope my RCI transfer to the hotel will still be available after the interview.

 

And before anyone says, I only found out about the APC a few days ago. (APC = Automatic Passport Control).

It has been 20 years (give or take) since I have been to NYC. Can't remember much of it. So I will be treating this as a new location.

So a quick note about my camera gear. I am a Canon camera owner. I shoot with the 7D mark 2 for wildlife and the 5Ds for portraiture, architecture and pretty much everything else. I won't be focusing much on wildlife on this cruise, but will be setting myself some challenges whilst I can.

 

I will try and photograph what I can on the ship. I haven't researched the ship properly, so I am looking to be surprised. However, if anyone wants to share some gem locations, please let me know.

I love carnivore food porn, but I can take vegitarian food porn as well. If you could get a picture of broccoli or califlower being smothered in warm cheese you might have afriend for life. :)

Broc or Colli with cheese is something I would eat at home... not on a cruise.[emoji14]

As I am not in a suite, I won't access to the Coastal Kitchen. Also, as a vegetarian, I would probably avoid the Coastal at all cost. :p. I will see what I can do in the other places.

The cruise was booked whilst I was on Oasis during her tour of Europe. I started to panic about the weather when the high winds forced the ship to turn around. So here's hoping for a smooth ride.
