Platinum Question

When going by the number of cruises, you obtain Platinum at the end of your fifth cruise. So on your sixth cruise, you are Platinum. There's also a way to obtain the status by the number of days you've been on a Princess ship...but it's at the end of that cruise. You don't change status during a cruise. You can also get some points by booking a full suite or going solo.

Thanks everyone. Panama Canal won't get us to 51+ this year. So next year it will be. Hooray.

Happy for you the Plainum Benefits are good. I think you get the Plainum card at the end of your Panama cruise it will be sent to your cabin. :)

Looking at your cruise history, you have five cruises under your belt and should be Platinum now. Take a look at your cruise history on your account to make sure they are all listed. If some are missing, contact Captains Circle via telephone. They are most helpful.

Or you could take a one or three day repo in September (Seattle/Vancouver) and be platinum for your October cruise... This is really more useful getting to elite, which adds laundry and one-time minibar setups. Even if only one person has the status he/she gets the internet minutes or the elite perks. Our son did a one day solo followed by a three day solo (different ship to be legal), giving him 4 credits toward elite.

I wish that a 14 day cruise would count as two - this just doesn't seem fair. DH has two 7 day cruises, one 15 day cruise and one 14 day cruise which equals 4 cruises with a total of 43 days... Still Ruby.

Suites earn double cruise credits, as do solos.
Booking a suite will earn you an extra credit. Booking a cabin as a solo will earn you an extra credit. So a solo in a suite would earn three credits.
