Warning-Freezing Cold Comedy Club

Just off the Glory and was on the Conquest a few weeks ago. Both comedy clubs were freezing cold. They said they couldn't change the temp because they were over the MDR. The main show room was also cold. Brings sweaters/sweatshirts.

I wonder what the actual temperature is in them? Some people think it's cold when a room is 69 degrees, whereas some think it's cold when it's 74.

 

(Not a jab at the OP, seriously just wanting to know)

Where I live, it is very hot and humid. My ac is set on 65. 60 at night. For some reason, on cruise ships or land casinos, I am freezing! Hope I don't jinxed myself, but so far our room has always been comfortable. I always bring a wrap around shawl or whatever to match my outfits. My 1st cruise, I only had a paper thin weight windbreaker. Believe me, I was so cold, I did not care if it matched or not! I always feel it is like when you go to DR's. office. It is cold to keep down the germs?

I found the entire ship excessively cold and plan to bring sweaters and long pants for our next cruise. That said my husband says I'm always cold...lol

I always bring light long sleeve sweaters to the MDR and clubs. I think being in the sun all day is one of the reasons you get cold while in the air-conditioning in the evening, even if the temps are around 68-70.

Temperature is even more subjective than food quality/taste.

On the Conquest in April we needed jackets/sweaters in Atrium and showroom too.

The conquest had a cold comedy lounge back in '12 and '13, it was one of the few rooms we loved because our room stayed warm on both sailings.

It is too bad they cant pipe some of that cold air down into the cabins that are at 74 degrees, and deemed by Carnival to be appropriate temp, but cause many guests to have a very uncomfortable sleep.:(

I believe it works the other way...if the ice isn't melting, it could well be freezing. :)

 

best bet is to bring a sweater, if you need it great...and if you don't, even better

Every ship I've been on, it's been freezing cold EVERYWHERE on the ship, not just the comedy club.

 

IDK why it's so danged cold but I end up wearing a jacket half the time if I'm indoors and at night, I've sometimes worn the robe they provide IN BED so I don't freeze to death.

You can always request a blanket for your bed. Had to do this for my cabin mate who gets cold if its below 72. Me, esp. in any show room, lounge, even the MDR, I always have a sweater with me.

I'm the same way! I try to never complain because I feel like I am always cold. I see you are up north and I don't see how you do it! I love being in the south. :D

On Sunshine comedy club was warm. They'd usually wait until the show started to turn down the air some.

Comfort at certain temperatures is such a subjective thing. Cold natured people complain it's too cold and hot natured people complain it's too hot. And both can occur at the same temperature. I wish I could pipe some of that cool air into my cabin when I cruise. I'm so tired of warm cabins on Carnival.

My dream room would be 65 ish in my room and 70 ish in any other spot onboard. My wife freezes if it is below 73 though.

I agree. I just made myself a note to bring a thermometer on my next cruise. I have never considered myself either hot or cold natured. When it's hot, I'm hot, when it's cold I'm cold! I hear from my family all the time, that I am cold natured. They claim it is because I am thin and don't have enough "meat on my bones" to insulate. Makes me nuts! I earlier today walked to the library. Weather channel said it was 83 with a heat index of 92. And, yes, I was HOT! Land based casinos, I dress inside like it is winter even if it is July. It's cold! Same with cruise showrooms. My step-mom always has to ask for a fan in any room they have been in. I think she maybe has too much insulation:D

 

The main reason I have never written a review for a cruise is I honestly have such a good time, I can't seem to remember some of the things that people grouse about. I have never been cold enough in a room to need a robe, but, if I were hot, I would remember as I hate to sleep in a warm room. Hope I haven't jinxed myself. I am going to take notes next cruise. Also, I have never been that interested in the tons of pics that people include in their cruise review. Love to see them having fun with their family, shore excursions, etc... But, the tons of pics, that we can all just look at on the Carnival site, of bathrooms, or just rooms in general become quite a yawn.

Yeah, but the official Carnival pics don't show the ceramic tiles of half nekkid artistically done women that are in some of the bathrooms. :D IIRC, we had one several times when we were on The Freedom.

 

Nothing better than hearing "MOOOM! Why is there a naked lady in our bathroom?" from your kid while you're trying to unpack.:eek::D

That's really funny! Are you just kidding? Our 1st cruise on Freedom will be 9/16. As we are older than dirt and don't have to worry about small children, that's one thing. But, if you are really serious, that is totally not acceptable, since people do travel with children. I have never seen this on any other ship, or was I just "mom" blind as don't have small ones to worry about anymore?:confused:
