BourkeBlogs Posted May 26, 2016 Author #601 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Fantastic! Can't wait for your Hibachi photos - I'm on next weeks cruise with my parents and my BF's parents - so we want to try and book a whole table together. Out of interest did you book in advance or onboard? I'm not sure how to book in advance to ensure we are all sitting together, so I guess I will figure it out on Sunday when I get onboard. How many were sitting at the table though? I've only ever been to 1 hibachi in my life (and loved it) and my group dominated the table with 6 out of 8 seats and it was such a blast! Just curious. Really appreciate the time you are taking to post all your experiences and photos - so exciting to get home from work every evening and see all your updates! :) Hi the tables in Hibachi are for up to 8 and there are 3 sets of 8. We booked onboard which is why we could only get 5.30 however you can book online in your cruise planner. Here are the pics. ade1982 Posted May 26, 2016 #602 Share Posted May 26, 2016 The most worrying thing I saw unfinished (well, faulty) was there was a load of commotion between the restaurant "pit boss" as I like to call them and our waiter, and we looked up at what they were going on about and it appears that one of the spotlights actually fell from the ceiling  I took a picture, but I can't find it at the moment. BourkeBlogs Posted May 26, 2016 Author #603 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Apologies if I've missed this, but wondering if Jamies is open for lunch and how this compares in price and menu for dinner? Thanks in advance! Hi, I have just checked and its $30 for dinner and $25 for lunch. I haven't got a copy of the lunch menu yet, although will make sure I get this for you tomorrow
WyKnott Posted May 26, 2016 #604 Share Posted May 26, 2016 This is the view from 9729. Sent from my iPhone 6s using Tapatalk We were on Oasis in February in 10729 and loved the view of the ocean and aquatheater from the balcony. We just booked Harmony in February 2018 in 12329 and 12327. Now seeing this, I'm not too thrilled about the obstructed view.

Pmorton3360 Posted May 26, 2016 #606 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Thanks for the picture of the twin beds. I see they can move those tables. Thought they were attached to wall. Doesn't look too bad.
BourkeBlogs Posted May 26, 2016 Author #607 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Thanks for the picture of the twin beds. I see they can move those tables. Thought they were attached to wall. Doesn't look too bad. No problem. It didn't look too bad at all. The only slight downside is that the bedside lights are above above your bed, but the gap in the middle was adequate to share a room with someone your not that close to. Rare little britain Posted May 26, 2016 #609 Share Posted May 26, 2016 (edited) Any pics of your JS would be great!! The JS balcony is very big with 2 chairs that recline, 2 footstools and a very small low table so it is impossible to have a meal out there!!!!! The table I had last cruise on the Broadwalk balcony, on the other hand was huge and high. Question we have a D1 booked for next May I have been watching the prices from D1 to JS and it's $1887. Based on your experience from Boardwalk to JS would you think it would be worth the upgrade? It looks roomy but I am not sure 1887 worth. It would be 3 in the cabin 2 adults and a 10 year old. HAVE A GREAT TIME!!! Look forward to your journey!! Sent from my iPhone 6s using Tapatalk Hmmmm, you may be right. I think the cabin appears to have more room with bed by the door when beds are separated. Unfortunately, for me, I have no clue what the set up will be for my cabin. But with both these pictures I now know what to expect. Thank you for sharing. Much appreciated. When I booked my cabin there was no mention of this Abyss. I have sailed on the Oasis twice and booked Boardwalk on Harmony for what I thought would be the same. I'm keeping an open mind, but I'm not happy either.

They have had this in the other JS's we've been in...but I don't see any evidence of this in the picture you sent.
alaska_planner Posted May 27, 2016 #617 Share Posted May 27, 2016 Just off the 4 day trip on the Harmony, we had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, food was great, drinks plentiful and a lovely ship! But..... would have been even better if they had finished building the ship first! Never seen so many engineers with tools fixing stuff before, I really liked all the French engineers in the smoking area on deck 15 having a fag and scratching their heads! Hope they get it all fixed before it gets to Barcelona. It wasn't a cheapo trip but at least we had a working toilet and shower :) french engineers? nuff said

We've been in many JS's and most of them the curtain was only decoration....looks like the HOTS JS's don't even have that as it would be by the head of the bed between the couch. alfie1963 Posted May 27, 2016 #620 Share Posted May 27, 2016 Harmony of the seas Worst week ever You should re name this ship waiting of the seas because that's what you will be doing. First night American grill one and a half hours before a starter arrives took over three and a half hours for our first evening meal. Second night Chops grill which you pay for Reservation booked for 8pm Shown to our table at ten to 9pm Sat until 10.30 then walked out with no meal (shocking) Windjammer should be re named Jammer as its so small you will not find a table. Only 2 small bars in the main pool deck they can't cope. You will struggle to find a seat in any public area. If you happen to smoke forget it 4 tables deck 15 or casino 4 tables The service is dreadful. It's all about maximising profit Crammed in then extract as much money from them. Book again not even if it was free now at Southampton and can not wait to get of. I must say last night in the dining room the head waiter Milan went above his title and done everything to make it a pleasant night top marks for him shame there aren't many more staff like him.i need water to mix medicine placed this in the fridge and it froze, aircon was stuck on full it was so cold read delivered to my mums room was a pot of cold water the list goes on. Rare little britain Posted May 27, 2016 #623 Share Posted May 27, 2016 (edited) Other JS comments: no clothes line in the bathroom ( nor in the Broadwalk balcony either). The plug in the bath is very raised and it is directly where you stand under the shower..... You will stub your toes! As mentioned huge balcony but no loungers and only a very small table so not suitable for dining. Kettle and coffee machine with 2 bags of Starbucks Seattle Pike Place roast. Tazo trabags do get your own Tetleys from Park Cafe. 3 USA plugs, 1 European and 2 USB ports. Huge walk in wardrobe. Fabulous room with access to CK for dinner too! Despite the compass still saying CK is for GS and above.... Wine was free flowing and complimentary in CK last night. Not sure if this is the norm or whether we just were lucky. Food and service were superb. Sent from my iPhone 6s using Tapatalk Edited May 27, 2016 by little britain
rkkunk Posted May 27, 2016 #624 Share Posted May 27, 2016 When on the Allure, we had lunch at Giovanni's for $15. The lunch menu did differ from the dinner menu though. It was still wonderful. So, is the menu at Jamie's the same for lunch and dinner or are they different? Not much of a price difference between the two. We had a GS on the Allure and the wine was free with your meal in CK and they were very generous with it or any other drink you were drinking. BourkeBlogs Posted May 27, 2016 Author #625 Share Posted May 27, 2016 We tried to go the WJ for breakfast this morning although it was too busy so ended up back in American Icon. There was only a short queue and we were seated quickly. Breakfast was pretty good but very slow again. It took 25 minutes for our cereal / fruit, 30 minutes for a cup of tea then 45 minutes for the food. It was hot when it was served. There was someone seated behind us who was rude, obnoxious and very demanding to the waiters and was served within 10 minutes, in fact she was seated served and left before I had even got a cup of tea. It does appear the louder and ruder you are the quicker you get served and this should not be the case. People should be served in turn and there is certainly no reason to have such a lack of manners. The waiter did advise there are just too many people on the ship for them to serve and they are having to work 18 hour days as a result. That's really not fair on the staff to expect those working hours. This morning we haven't really done much just had a lazy morning and been updating my blog. We had planned to go to Johnny Rockets for lunch but unfortunately it was closed. There is no sign showing the opening times but have just checked the cruise compass and it doesn't open till 2, which is a bit late for lunch for us after eating breakfast early. We then tried to go to the Doghouse although that's closed till 1 so have ended up in the Windjammer which is busy with cold food, brilliant!
