LrgPizza Posted May 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2016 (edited) We just got off the Escape this morning, and for the 2nd straight cruise, we were given VIP service. We have no idea why! The perks included: - Fruit basket and mini-sandwiches in our cabin upon boarding - Other snacks every single afternoon - Robes and slippers (embroidered with Haven) - Bvlgari bath products - Personal concierge who called every day to check on us, and offered to make reservations, escort us to shows, etc. (We used her to get into a sold out restaurant we weren't able to book ourselves!) - Invite to Captain's reception in the Haven (we thought it would be funny to wear the robes, but we refrained). - Invite to private VIP event in District Brewhouse - Priority disembarkation (luggage tags and escort off the ship). We are silver latitudes level. We sail in standard balcony cabins. We rarely gamble on the ship, and we spend very little... We have no clue why we have been selected to be VIPs twice now, but we certainly aren't complaining! Can anyone shed any light on why this might happen? numberguy Posted May 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2016 Were you in charge of the cruise critic meet and greet? Some who have done that have gotten VIP perks, myself included. Although, I didn't get all of that, but most of it.

Victorious8 Posted May 28, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 28, 2016 My guess is that the same person who gave Gambee's name to someone gave yours since you are a prominent poster.

LrgPizza Posted May 28, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted May 28, 2016 Gift from Sean the Hotel Director You were on The Escape's Transatlantic Crossing and yest you are a frequent poster. Weird. I wouldn't know Sean from the man in the moon, and he certainly wouldn't have any way of knowing I post here, so that can't be it. Not everyone got the same VIP treatment on the TransAtlantic either. I guess I'll see if it extends to our next cruise again. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

How would that person know my name? I don't register for cruises using my CC screen name. I figure there's about a .0001% chance it has anything to do with CC. That makes no sense. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app You'd be surprised at how much NCL knows about all of us who post here. It is, of course, in their best interest to see what their guests are saying...even more so when they can attach the real name of the person to the comment(s). To show you how easy it is... Look at your signature where you display: NCL Spirit: New Year's week Dec. 2009-'10 ♥ NCL Getaway: May 2014 ♥ NCL Epic: Nov. 2014 ♥ NCL Escape Transatlantic: Oct. 2015 ♥ Coming Soon: NCL Escape: May 2016 ♥ NCL Breakaway: May 2017 That is a list of 6 different NCL cruises. Now...imagine that you had access to the manifest for each of those sailings (like NCL does). How long to you think it would take someone with a PC to come up with a list of the people that were on each and every one of those sailings? And quite honestly, how long do you think that list really is? With access to the data, it isn't difficult at all for a cruise line to figure out who is behind a screen name. Thank You SesShark, The Latitudes Department could have your information in probably less than ten minutes and pass it on the ship even faster. There Norwegian employees who monitor and occasionally comment on threads here.

There Norwegian employees who monitor and occasionally comment on threads here. I guess that can happen, but I've never heard of anyone else who posts here getting consecutive VIP trips, and I'd think that if they went to all that trouble, they'd save it for someone who writes reviews or something. Again, I don't buy it. My husband thinks it's because of a nice email I sent to Andy Stuart a while back, and some conversing he and I did for a bit. I had forgotten about that, but it seems more likely. Anyway, thanks for the input. I'll report back on this next year when we cruise again. In the mean time I've got some land trips booked, and I'd like a bit of VIP for those. Haha Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

LrgPizza Posted May 28, 2016 Author #13 Share Posted May 28, 2016 Everyone assumes it has to do with CC. That's so funny. We'd have loads of people posting about getting VIP service if CC was oh so important. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Not so funny considering that you assumed that Cruise Critic was the place to find out why you were VIP.... It isn't like NCL comes here to let us know why. (Like by hosting meet 'n greets, as some have posted above.) I suppose I could have posted on a forum about trail running, but figured this made more sense. Never ever ask about why you are getting VIP service in the midst of getting it. There is always that chance that you shouldn't be & they'll cancel it:eek:

How about this... The HD throws darts at a deck plan. He hit your cabin, you won. Is that better? Edited May 28, 2016 by triptolemus
