IsanTom Posted August 12, 2016 #51 Share Posted August 12, 2016 A year ago I tried the fish and chips and once was enough. Glad to hear they now have barbecue and it's good!
jmcancruise Posted August 12, 2016 #52 Share Posted August 12, 2016 We are going on the Glory shortly after it goes to drydock next spring. We would love to see the change except that I think it would be popular and would spoil the nice quiet sitting area up there.

The flip side is it will open up more seating on lido and that is a good thing during lunchtime.
joeyancho Posted August 12, 2016 #54 Share Posted August 12, 2016 The fish and chips were nasty. Over cooked and dripping with grease. The oysters were bad also. It is a good concept poorly executed.

SMSACE6 Posted August 12, 2016 #57 Share Posted August 12, 2016 Cooked to perfection on the Valor ,oysters were fantastic . agree. when I was on the Valor, it was the first time I tried the Fish and Chip place, and both oysters and fish and chips were excellent. Fast Forward two years later on the Liberty, both were terrible, but I did get to try the ceviche and bouillabaisse which I have come to like very much. Tried it again on two subsequent trips on Freedom, one year everything was good, and another year not so good. That is why I say Fish and Chips are hit or miss. I will miss it though. MasterMason Posted August 12, 2016 #61 Share Posted August 12, 2016 With all the places to eat on the ship you would really cancel due to fish and chips being replaced? I was thinking the same thing! Sort of like cancelling because they changed the Cruise Director.

LaFrimaire Posted August 12, 2016 #63 Share Posted August 12, 2016 Is this also because of the extra charge seafood shack like on the Vista?

Sort of like cancelling because they changed the Cruise Director. Im pretty sure that poster was joking. Even if they weren't, people have the right to cancel their cruise for whatever reason they want, as trivial as their reasoning may seem to some. Live and let live. Jenna1983 Posted August 13, 2016 #70 Share Posted August 13, 2016 Question: Is the BBQ joint an add your own BBQ sauce after they cook the meat with the seasonings or is it a cook the meat in your sauce? That'll tell if I can even attempt to try it as I can't eat any BBQ sauce due to my allergies to tomatoes and bell peppers. Darn tomato paste. nicnic96 Posted August 13, 2016 #71 Share Posted August 13, 2016 This is a pleasant surprise! :) I've tried the ceviche and I'm not a fan. I've never craved fish and chips on a cruise ship. With everything there is to eat, fried foods just seem too heavy. Good BBQ will be a huge hit with many of us Americans! I'm just not sure how I'm going to try it when I have to get a Guy's burger and a Blue Iquana burrito! Hopefully I won't forget to venture upstairs! beta98beta Posted August 13, 2016 #72 Share Posted August 13, 2016 Oh No!!! We are going in April and I really wanted to try the fish. My sister went and said it was the best fried fish she has ever had! It was good in an Arthur Treachers vs Capt Ds sort of way but if you're from any coastal state where seafood is plentiful, cheap and good, you won't have missed out on anything. Rare Honolulu Blue Posted August 13, 2016 #74 Share Posted August 13, 2016 Well here is why...from John Heald's fb page this morning: Very interesting. Thanks for sharing that. Another for-pay food stop (calling it a restaurant might be a stretch). More fodder for the "I'll Never Pay For Food on a Cruise" and the "Relentless Carnival Cutbacks" camps.
