Equinox Emergency Medical Evacuation

Last night after getting a late start out of Ft. Lauderdale (7:30pm) the Capitain informed all of that due to a medical emergency we would be returning to Miami to meet a medical boat. Just before midnight we met with a Miami-Dade Fire rescue boat. At this time there is no word of what happened to the passenger, the only thing I could tell was it was an elderly white man. I was able to get an OK video of the EVAC, it was a challenging situation but went very well.

That is real sad as you wait this long to get on the ship and it is so sad that this has to happen. Hopefully the person that this happened to will be alright. You never like to see anything like this.

We watched for the sail away on a webcam and noticed there was a crane on a barge next to the starboard aft of Equinox. Was there a repair that caused the delay?

It appeared that they were removing and inspecting the inflatable life rafts. At 1 point they had 4 of them open and inflated on the pier.

Had that happen a couple of years ago leaving from Bayonne heading to Bermuda, it was dark when we left and this was in the middle of summer

The passenger who had to be returned to Miami had surgery and is reported to be doing well according to the Captain. We will be arriving in St. Thomas on schedule so all is good!

The delay leaving FLL was due to a faulty life boat that required repair.
