Escape late night food options besides buffet?

We've only cruised Royal so far so we aren't used to the options on the NCL Escape. We enjoy a casual bite to eat at night, nothing large, but something. Typically it's been pizza or small sandwiches on RCI.

Besides the buffet or room service, what options are available, say 11pm, around the ship?

I guess the same question goes for during lunch, besides the buffet or MDR, are there other decent casual locations?

Thanks!!!

O'Sheehans is 24 hours

Lunch:

On Sea days, the sushi bar is open at lunch.

Margaritaville

Window service at Ocean Blue is open at lunch - this is where you get the lobster rolls.

If you are in The Haven, The Haven Restaurant is open.

One of the MDR's will be open on sea days.

I found this from NCL that details what is open when per ship:

One option for small snacks is the casino. They will set up a snack station at night. When we were on the Escape in February, it was on the starboard side in a corner near the chandelier. They usually had veggies and dip, cheese and one hot thing (wings or the like). There is no place to sit, but if you want to grab somethings quick and small, this is an option.

I'm not sure what time they set up, but we would usually be in that area sometime between 10:30 and 1:00.

Never saw this happen on our Escape cruise last month. I know where you are talking about and I was in the casino pretty late every night. Never saw anything set up there. Probably another cutback.

Luckily the wings at OSheehans made up for it! YUM!

I'm sorry to hear that. They had that on our first two Epic cruises as well. Since we were often in the casino late at night, we would take advantage of it for something to tide us over.

Thank you all, especially SuiteTraveler.

This information, and the .pdf is excellent! Even though the Escape is not specifically listed, what are the "Main Pool Bar & Grill" and/or "alternative Pool Bar & Grill" venues? Thanks again.

The Pool Bar&Grill areas are kind of like an outdoor buffet - in fact they are outside the buffet on deck 16 and that's where you get stuff like hot dogs, French fries and hamburgers. These areas are called different things on different NCL ships such as The Great Outdoors on Jewel class ships or on Escape it's called Open Air Garden Cafe. On Escape these areas are located outside of the buffet (Garden Cafe) on both the port and starboard sides on 16. Then Margaritaville is upstairs from these areas on the starboard side on 17. The pool bar on Escape is called Waves Pool Bar(16) and then there is the Sundeck bar upstairs (17), then Margaritaville has the 5 O'Clock Somewhere bar (17). So the Waves Pool Bar 16 and Sundeck bar 17 are probably the bars of the Bar&Grill venues. (On the smaller ships, these are all clustered together on one deck, whereas on Escape they are more spread out on the pool deck and sundeck.)

SuiteTraveler travels too much and has gotten Escape confused with Getaway! There isn't a sushi bar or Ocean Blue window on Escape. :)

For lunch on Escape you'll have buffet, MDR, O'Sheehan's, Margaritaville, Pincho Tapas, and Food Republic (the last 2 are sea days only).

That's an old PDF.

The most current one is HERE but there are a few errors on it still.

Thank you.

So am I correct that the only casual complimentary late night food options (besides room service) around the ship are the buffet and O'Sheehan's?

Dang, and I thought Royal was limited.

Does the buffet close? How late is the dining room open?

Have to disagree. I love Royal Ships but the Promenade Cafe and Sorrentos Pizza just cant compare to OSheehans in my opinion. Much better selection there. Not sure how late the dining rooms are open. But the buffet has late night snacks until much later than the buffet serves on Royal. I walked through once around 11 pm and there was quite a nice selection.

I just looked at the O'Sheehan's menu and Wow, yeah, that is a great menu. Right up my alley!

It still only leaves the buffet and O'Sheehans though.

True but I didnt find it a big problem and I am a late eater. Although there is a charge for room service, the menu is better than most lines offer. However to be honest the actual food you get is so so at best.

OSheehans worked great for my needs. Central location right by the casino, quite a varied menu. I found the darn wings addictive! Very good and crispy! After about 11 the crowd dies down and it was quick and easy to grab something. You can also sit overlooking the atrium while eating. I really liked that too. Probably the best late night food I have had on 13 cruises. Desserts there are nice too but I only tried a couple of things. I was usually trying to soak up some of the alcohol. The UBP is GREAT! No signing, no receipt. Quick and simple like it should be.

I was on Escape last week (Nov 19 sailing) -- I did see the snack set up in the Casino late night - so they are still doing it. But I'll put my vote in for O'Sheehan's over Sorrentos for sure. I had a great Ruben and Fries at 1 am after the Glow Party in Spice H2O :D!! Enjoy!!

It's worth noting that many lines are cutting down late night options and/or switching them to cook on demand type stuff.

Yes its cost, but also there was (literally) a TON of food wasted back in the days of the midnight buffet, one EC told us on a tour when he started in the industry in those days they would toss several hundred pounds of food each night if not more.

On the epic there was no small set up with Sandwiches either but nothing to do with cut backs: OSHeehans is right there by the casino. I wouldn't expect to see a sandwich set up also. Of course I haven't been on the Escape, so don't know if it is similar.

The Star and the Getaway had the casino snacks in the past year. I think they do it all the time.

On the Jade last month they had sandwich quarters, fruit slices, and cookies.

They set it up about 11pm.

The more I look at the O'Sheehan's menu, and the fact that it's 24 hours, the more I'm excited about the late night (or even anytime) food options on the Escape. That menu has stuff that everyone in our group of 7 would easily enjoy anytime.

How crowded does O'Sheehan's get for lunch or say, after 9pm in the evening? How do you order the food (do they have waiters at the tables or do you need to order at the bar?) and how long does it take to get the food?

Thanks.
