Just got caught up again! Thanks for your very detailed review. I am the one that asked about the pictures not showing up. They are there when I am not logged in so that is good! It is just weird, you would think it would be the other way around. At least now we all know in case this comes up again!

Thank you for taking the time doing this...

I am really looking forward to your NCL review... We loved the Getaway...

We did 4 cruises on Carnival, than tried NCL, and, never went back to Carnival... We loved Carnival but NCL was just a better fit for us.

We are doing the Legend in Sep, cant wait to cruise Carnival again...

Awesome review.

Thanks you for all of your hard work. Love looking at the pictures and reading about your activities.

We are a family of 4 (two boys 12 and 9). We are planning a cruise on the Vista. The price seems about the same -

Balcony versus interior family harbor versus interior spa room.

Balcony is a bigger room. The family harbor has the extra family space and the spa has the spa access. But the rooms are smaller. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Thank you for this great review. Love reading and looking at all of the beautiful pictures.

We just got off the Vista and brought our two sons, ages 7&10, & stayed in a balcony Family Harbor room (2429).

I would definitely stay in the FH area again. Our kids were able to be in the room by themselves while we finished getting ready...they loved the PS4 (racing & Kung Fu Panda), unlimited ice cream, & breakfast.breakfast.Bandjwayne@charter.netBandjwayne@charter.net

It's fun seeing all the familiar sites in Bonaire. When I was there in the fall of 2015, several of us went on the Twizy tour and went to all the same places. It was fun driving around the island in the little cars. We got a lot of looks from the other tourists.

These huts were constructed in 1850 during the slavery time, and served as camping facilities for slaves working in the salt ponds to collect and ship the salt, one of Bonaire's most important export products. These huts were used as sleeping quarters and place to put away personal belongings of the working team. Each Friday afternoon the slaves walked seven hours to the village of Rincon to weekend with their families, returning each Sunday.

The salt pans which are large condensing ponds that produces salt. The natural process of production gives different strong colours to the pans: from turquoise to flamingo pink. They are a natural habitat for numerous species of brine shrimp which in turn feed flocks of hundreds of pink flamingoes. Flamingos get their pink color from eating brine shrimp that feast on pink algae.

Can you stand in the slave huts? What is the tree with the flip flops?

Great pictures!

Well I guess it depends on how tall you are but generally the slaves could not stand inside the huts.

The flip flop tree is a tradition started somewhere else that caught on in Bonaire. It is believe that it started with a tourist leaving their flip flop in the tree and now it's filled with flip flops along with other objects like toys, water bottles etc.

This is one of three remaining Obelisks on Bonaire that were used as navigational shore markers to guide ships coming in to load. The obelisks were painted red, white, blue and orange (the colours of the Dutch flag).

Brenda dropped us off in town near the ship so we could do a bit of shopping.

What was great about this private tour is that Brenda avoided the large tour buses that were going to some of the same places we were going. You can tailor the trip to your wants but we decided to leave it up to Brenda. Overall the excursion was well worth the price. Brenda was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable about the island and sea life. We highly recommend HO2.
