What's the main differences I'll see on the Harmony that I didn't see on the Allure?

Recommended Posts

As shown in the above picture of the smoking area, no bleacher type seating by the main pool, segregating the smoking area behind the seats.

Also, the solarium is now three decks, with easy access to the 14th floor wing areas over the bridge. (Check out the clear floor of the port side wings).

Larger comedy club, so should be easier to reserve or standby for a show.

No frozen yogurt machine in the pool area, only near mini bites.

Comedy venue and nightclub are merged into one new venue, The Attic.

Depressing DL is buried on Deck 4.

Wonderland is a unique and fun dining experience (one is probably enough, though).

Jamie's is far and away better than Giovanni's.

New layout (and somewhat improved quality/presentation) in the Windjammer.

Bionic (and often inoperative) Bar on the promenade in place of Champagne Bar.

Yes, Jim. You are correct! I forgot about that. This picture looks familiar.... I think I took it

Thanks for the photo! In the future, when I down load photos I will incorporate the original poster's screen name into the file name when I rename and save it on my PC. Then I will be able to credit the OP when I re-post a photo.

I have been watching all of the threads on the Harmony for photos of the Smoking area on the Pool Deck and saving them when I find them.

The Adirondack Chairs are comfortable to sit in but really hard for old folks to get out of. I can lift my butt up by the arms on the chair and then scoot forward until I am sitting on the front edge of the chair and then push myself up from there. But my DW can't. I have to extend a hand to her and pull her up. (Growing old Ain't for Sissies!)

I think that RCI has eliminated traditional tables and chairs and gone with the Adirondack chairs because they can cram more people into the same space. I have also seen these chairs in photos of other places on the Harmony. On our last cruise we talked with a bunch of people who had been on the Harmony and they all hated the Adirondack chairs.

On our last cruise on the Serenade we both started using our Rollators more and more to get around on the ship. Since then, we have both gotten new ones that are bigger, taller, and better. Here is a photo of us "test rolling" them on one of the little roads around our mini farm.

Our present plan is to sit in our Rollators in the smoking area when we are on the Harmony next month. Of course our plan could change when we are actually on the ship.

I will be doing a live report from the Harmony from the February 18th sailing!

Jim--The area on Deck 15 does have two sections, with an "end" on each where this would work. Besides the casino, that is the only option. There is nothing on Deck 16.

Looking forward to your LIVE report--I think I read in another post of yours that Lyric will be joining you on this sailing? I think Harmony is the best ship in the fleet for little ones! Enjoy!

  • 2 weeks later...

Also the Abyss isn't on the other Oasis class ships. The donut shop isn't on the HOTS but replaced by a starbucks, which is a kiosk on the sister ships. Also not exactly sure if the Suite or Diamond lounge or the Suite restaurant is the same- will be on the HOTS in a few weeks and know for sure.

DL is now on deck 4. Wonderland is on decks 11 and 12 where the DL is on Oasis and Allure.

The SL/CK is a lot different on Harmony. The bar is located in the area that is Chefs Table on the older ships. Frees up space along the glass for seating. Also the absence of the Owners Loft and Grand Loft increase the size of both the SL and CK
