Mandylouwho Posted January 15, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Iv'e started my packing journey with three kids and two adults. Lord help me. I'm curious about the shampoo/soaps they have on board. I saw they don't have conditioner (I need it, everyone else is male and don't know what that is), so I would need to bring that. But what about the quality of the other things? Just curious...I'll probably bring my things, but will this stuff be ok for general use? Thanks! *Continues packing and crying on the inside...*
ready2cruzagain Posted January 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2017 The soap is fine, the shampoo...I don't use it on my hair but dh does. I prefer my own shampoo and conditioner. The ships leaves my hair too brittle.
DipBrat Posted January 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Everyone has their own standards. It's fairly generic and heavily scented but it will probably be fine for the males. Easy enough for you to bring a carry on approved bottle of shampoo and conditioner for your use. Sent from my iPad using Forums
orchestrapal Posted January 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) Are there better quality bathroom amenities in the large, OS, suites? Edited January 15, 2017 by orchestrapal
Rare BirdTravels Posted January 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 15, 2017 It's a combined shampoo and conditioner. Quality is a decent hotel quality. We're not picky, so a week's worth of free body wash and conditioner is a bonus. There is liquid body wash and shampoo/conditioner in shower dispensers and liquid soap At the sink. Most ships give out a small bar of "lemongrass" soap that we also use in the shower.
ryarger Posted January 15, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Are there better quality bathroom amenities in the large, OS, suites? All full suites have upgraded bathroom products. It will either be Bulgari or Elemis. They're quite nice! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cb at sea Posted January 15, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2017 For males, what is provided works just fine. I always bring ALL of my own stuff....I know what works on my hair/skin, and that's what I like and use and bring!
vana Posted January 15, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 15, 2017 And what about body lotion, coton ball and Q-tips? We are new to NCL and are trying to cut the luggage weight. Thank you
luddite Posted January 15, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Generally, ladies with aftermarket hair color will want to use their own brand of shampoo and conditioner. Guys use....whatever is nearby.
MBMGWM Posted January 15, 2017 #10 Share Posted January 15, 2017 I am not sure what level of suite gets the body lotion, cotton balls and Qtips. When we were in a balcony cabin, we did not have these items. We did have them when we were in the Haven.
timf2001 Posted January 15, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 15, 2017 One oddity worth noting is that while normal staterooms get combination shampoo/conditioner and separate body wash, the Bulgari amenities provided in suites are combination shampoo/body wash and separate conditioner and lotion. jfarri4230 Posted January 15, 2017 #12 Share Posted January 15, 2017 I would add that while the Bulgari shampoo and conditioner we got in the 2 bedroom suite was better than what is in the regular dispensers, it was not good for my hair either. If your hair is colored like mine, I would bring on a product that you know works for you. Dry, brittle, frizzy hair is not good anytime, but especially when cruising. We refer to that as "the green stuff" (in a good way). Our eyes must be bad but DW figured out on the last trip they actually have a flip cap built in - we were always unscrewing the caps until the magical discovery of the flip cap. Rare BirdTravels Posted January 15, 2017 #14 Share Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) Regular rooms get a lemongrass soap bar and tube of lotion. All suites get Bvlgari products, q-tips, cotton balls, bath salts. Edited January 15, 2017 by BirdTravels
