Disabling Ocean Medallion

And while they're at it, how about CCL stating how CCL will use the data it mines?

Hopefully they will use it to facilitate fixing issues such as underutilized venues, choke points onboard, etc. I'm not worried about princess selling data that shows I like Bloody Marys or Bulleit bourbon.

I may have missed the information but how will we use it or have to get a card for the casino slots etc.

Interesting question. I'm sure Princess hasn't failed to consider that revenue source but I don't believe I have seen the issue addressed by them so far.

Without the Medallion system I can tell Princess what the main choke points are:

o The walkways in the atrium areas when the sales table and their customers take up 3/4 of the pathways.

o On the pre-Royal class the hallway by the photo gallery where the display of the photos takes up half the walkway and dinner in the aft dining room or an event in the aft lounge has just ended.

o The elevator lobby outside the Princess Theater when a show has just ended.

Looks like you almost nailed it. You left out the mess from the "art" auctions. ;)

Of course, without those sales tables how could passengers have so much access to buy worthless junk?

By the way

If it is RF based just put some foil around it if you don't want to be tracked

Darn it.

Now there's another thing I need to pack next to the door hanger organizer and the power strip for the cabin...

What is junk to one person may be special to another.

Lets not forget the photographer's setups throughout the ship on formal nights that block almost all traffic. :(

Silly question, I haven't seen mentioned, but may have missed it.

Are they waterproof?

They sure are. :)

Add to that list the area around passenger services where there will be a huge queue of paranoid cruisers who have wrapped their medallion in tin foil or locked it in the safe only to find that they can't buy any drinks or access their cabin!! :D

An interesting but slightly concerning thing happened yesterday, I was out shopping in LA with my phone, I picked up several products in the store, bought one of them and when I got home an hour later and went on the internet then ads for the products I just picked up started appearing at the side of webpages I visited, but for the product I actually bought there were ads for competing products.

Is this coincidence or technology at work?

It is Big Brother he is alive ad kicking

You cannot go on line to investigate a surprise present for DH because when he goes on the computer the ads for similar products come up and the suprise is blown:(

How will I add to my collection of key cards from cruise ships alive and dead? I can go back and see what year I sailed on this one or what cabin I was in on that one. Darn!

They're ruining my cruising memories!

Saving medallions won't be the same!
