I noticed the Cruise Critic gathering in yesterday's Daily.

They usually have it the first or second day of the cruise.

Was this the only time they had it on your cruise?

People use that meeting to connect with people they have excursions with - a week into the cruise would really mess with that! :(

No idea. I was not part of the roll call so did not attend any CC gatherings. Perhaps one of the other participating members can advise?

Yes, this was the first and only gathering.

Appreciate your blog.....gives a lot of insight of what we can expect. If possible, could you tell me want the max bet range on the slots are in Eclipse Casino?

Thanks,

Art

There are penny slots all the way up to at least $5. There might be a couple machines that have $10 or $25 denominations also but not sure. I can't tell you what the max bet range is as the machines all have different paylines. For instance there is a Stinkin Rich machine which has 100 lines which you can bet at 25 cent denomination which I believe can go up to 10x which would be $250 a spin.

Just loving this blog and the photos. We are on the eclipse twice next year in May from Dublin and then South America on December23rd. Cannot wait - would love to visit Aruba too - hubby and I like a gamble, shopping and sunshine so it's a no brainer but not heard good reviews of the place - what's your take on Aruba?

Aruba is fantastic! Possibly our favorite Caribbean island. It is very Americanized so we felt instantly comfortable. People are very friendly and welcoming. It is very safe; crime is very low. They have lots of casinos ( 2 at the port town and rest in Palm Beach or Eagle Beach), fantastic beaches, lots of shopping (most high End stores at the port town), and interesting natural features. If you never leave the port town then you may not be impressed. Also, it doesn't have the typical Caribbean beauty of the Virgin Islands or St. Lucia, it has more of a desert climate and landscape.

Running behind with updates as we have been very busy. Finishing off yesterday we had dinner at Qsine. This was probably our favorite visit there vs. two prior Celebrity cruises. Service was friendly and helpful. Pacing of the food was perfect. Quality of the food was okay. I have found this is never a haute cuisine experience at Qsine, it's more about trying lots of different foods in small portions. Photos shown include: BBQ and vegetable egg rolls, Disco Shrimp, Lava Crab, Lobster Escargot, Filet Mignon, Meatballs, Sliders, array of desserts, make your own cupcake, Strawberry Fields0d587c66163db31c73704d21e69ba4e9.jpgd04881363c0b75d42cdbf022efa51a07.jpg52adff24bc4e05737dd66bbd18cc5038.jpg42f77c25eab3cc2134119af51e2501cf.jpg3c017844384998ff8bcb24a74e8c0f54.jpg83336f7464a1b52a1654c8bcec106a44.jpg

Thank you so much!! I'm building a spreadsheet of the nighttime events based on all the dailies. Assuming things are pretty static in scheduling (I can't imagine that they move too much around or it would make things very confusing for the staff...) It will help me plan my restaurant reservations and dining times in advance.

I noticed on the Daily that at 8:00pm they're showing Sully (movie), poolside, under the stars. Does anyone know how this works? I didn't think the Eclipse was set up for movies under the stars. Maybe I'm missing something.

Such a wonderful review. As you can tell I'm reading EVERYTHING as we'll be on the Eclipse shortly. Thank you WonderMan3.

You're correct there isn't a MUTS on the Eclipse. Maybe the staff sets up a portable screen.

We've been on one of the small Princess ships that didn't have a MUTS screen and they set up a screen on the band stage for movies.

They could do that.

It'll be fun to find out.

I'm pretty sure that is what happened. I was on Deck 12 one night after a movie and saw all the chairs set up facing the band stage. Didn't see the screen but they may have already taken it down by the time I went through there.

Catching up with yesterday's adventures... we arrived in Barbados at 8am but debarking was delayed by about 20 minutes due to some port paperwork issue. We were one of the first off the boat, onto the shuttle bus to the terminal and right into a taxi and on to the Boatyard. We like to get there right as they open at 9am in order to get best choice of beach chairs. We arrived about 10 minutes before they opened but they let us in anyway. We were the first in to the place so we got front row beach chairs as well as cushions (they only have a limited number of them). Entrance fee has in increased from $15 to $20 pp and includes chair and umbrella, one free alcohol drink ( from a select menu), use of showers and restrooms, use of their floating devices, wifi, boat ride to see sea turtles and transportation back to the ship. They have a full bar and large lunch menu with a friendly and helpful staff. The beach itself is fantastic with soft powdery sand, warm water and small waves. We spent about 5 hours there with beautiful weather. We even bought some wood carved items from a vendor walking by. Our favorite day of the cruise so far.

Big changes in Luminae however the replacements are not new to the job so there should be no degradation in service. It's nice to see changes to the menu too.

Hi!

WonderMan, you are truly a wonderful man! Thank you for the real-deal review and the fabulous photos!! [emoji2]🥂[emoji1303]

I am curious about the big changes in Luminae. Is it only staff-related or are there menu changes as well? Thank you!

I am so enjoying reading this daily...thank you !!!

A couple of questions please- any more info regarding the outdoor movies ??/

I wish Celebrity had this each night. That would be on my wish list.

Also- I am curious about the daily on Curaco day....its list "best of specialty restaurants dinner "...where you visit all 4 restaurants and have 1 course in each. Any idea how much that costs??? That might be fun. I also noticed something for 69 for Tuscan and was curious what was different that the usual menu for that night.

We will probably purchase 3 or 4 night package but this info is fun to see and learn about before hand.

thanks tons !!!

Are you doing lots of dancing ??? how is the late night music??? From what I have read...I am going to like it. !!!

enjoy Brockmom

All I know is that the maitre'd is leaving at the end of this cruise and the sommelier sometime soon as well. I was told today that the sailing I am on now had about 200 or so staff changes and I believe the one after this on 2/5 will have another large number. I don't know about food changes in Luminae as I can't recall all the menu items from my 2016 cruise. I know there have been a number of items that are the same.

There have been people dancing almost every night in the atrium, sometimes in the Martini Bar (shadow dancing tonight), they've had Silent Disco going on in varying venues on several nights. We tend to stick to the casino each night so I'm not totally up on all the evening entertainment.

Don't have answers to your dining questions.

After the Boatyard, the five of us who went headed back to the ship and met up with Carol and Barbara who had done the ship's tour to the Mount Gay Rum Factory. They had a good time and got a bit buzzed sampling the rum. They did say the scenic drive part of the tour was not that pretty but the history they learned on the way was interesting.

All of us then set out for a 4:30 ship's tour, catamaran sunset sail. The weather was beautiful with calm seas which made for a perfect sail. There wasn't a lot of scenery to view but it was so calm and relaxing out on the water watching the sun set into the sea. They provided a variety of complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and an array of complimentary finger food. This closed out what was probably our best visit to Barbados ever.45872f30e7f558a993f2e41f108414b7.jpg8ac908ec7ac32621d1c5eee47202f1f3.jpg9ef400b422131d17b26b55396a970ee5.jpga297fd0627894caeb73dcba400295eb1.jpg1e1866d05d0e8d62dbe4c71a4755caa9.jpg3b65e8d75b2af798401904a5ca9a5f1d.jpg
