Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted March 14, 2017 Author #176 Share Posted March 14, 2017 That really was an amazing rescue! It has had a lot of media coverage here in Central Fl, and I have seen it on national coverage as well. I can't help but wonder what those jet skiers were thinking, though. Did they really think that riding their jet ski close to an oncoming cruise ship was a good idea? Joe, I did get some moisture munchers when I ordered my battery charger and spare battery. I know they change color when they are used up, but how long does one normally last? Also, what is the difference between the red O ring and the black one? I haven't advanced to the phase in my camera training where the camera goes into the housing yet! It is part of my training plan, though, along with some pool work before I take it diving. Hopefully by that time I will know if I'm on underwater mode or land mode! :o Time and moisture make them change and so it does vary . But at a $1 each they are very affordable . The red O ring is silicone and comes with the new cameras and you are not suppose to lubricate it as that will void the warranty . The black ones are rubber and you are suppose to lubricate it lightly with silicone grease or spray . I'm not sure if the red O rings will work with the older cameras and so I would check with Sealife before using one in your camera .

Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted March 15, 2017 Author #180 Share Posted March 15, 2017 Our "Cruise Connections" meeting was held in the Sky Observation Lounge Which also was where the art auction would be held later Pat liked this moon rise . Or was it a moon set ? After the meeting we went downstairs where we saw this outside of the Eclipse theater . Is that a left handed bass ? Pat needed a watch after her dive watch broke and so we joined the scrum at the $10 Madness Event which lived up to it's billing . We enjoyed a room service lunch in the privacy and shade of our balcony with it's million dollar view .

heathermk57 Posted March 15, 2017 #184 Share Posted March 15, 2017 The show features some strong and athletic performances as well as great singers and dancers .But we think that the flying while spectacular and the inclusion of songs like Uptown funk and Thriller gave Amade the feeling of a variety show , instead of a tribute to Mozart . I agree on that point. We went in to have a look - I am a fan of Mozart, but not acrobatics. I can appreciate the skill and hard work required, but the show was not to my taste so we left. We try to make sure we're on the end of a row if we have any doubts so that we can sneak out quietly. :halo:

And we did in fact do that at the next show . I am a fan of popular music as well as classical but I prefer to keep the Classical music Classical . And we felt the same way about the Beatles tribute concert , faithful to the original . :) :D
Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted March 15, 2017 Author #186 Share Posted March 15, 2017 The Eclipse uses an interactive TV to order room service or access your account charges We were getting antsy as we drew nearer to our first port Bonaire We didn't want a late night before diving the next day and so we changed dinner in the MDR to after the first show hoping that it would also be less crowded . But we did want something to eat before the show and the buffet wasn't crowded at all . Yummy Indian food for a tingle on the tongue before the concert
Walt fan Posted March 15, 2017 #187 Share Posted March 15, 2017 My lunch of leftover soup eaten at my desk at work really pales in comparison to your room service lunch on the balcony; I keep staring at the wake and the lunch and the wine. Enjoying so much. Our favorite show hands down was one we almost passed on a RC cruise; it was a tribute band to Abba; it was amazing; they looked and sounded exactly like them. They got a standing O at the end.

Crab quiche Salad Surf and Turf Dessert Now that's what we call Modern Luxury !!! We have seen a couple of ABBA tribute bands that were good , but not on a ship . And last June we saw a Beatle tribute band called Beatle Celebration on the Eclipse in the Baltic . And so we were looking forward to seeing Hard Day's Night in the Caribbean . Norris, cooking a chicken curry tonight with all the spices, papadums and Naan bread. I would love to name names but I only remember the Roti and the yellow lentil daal . There was a couple of curries , one with the kidney beans and one with the beef . I had the peas and potatoes several times , very tasty . BTW your dinner sounds delicious , do you have delivery ? Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted March 15, 2017 Author #191 Share Posted March 15, 2017 I went down to the Eclipse Theater early to choose seats on the floor at the end of the aisle and when Pat arrived I went down front for an equipment check . I used more manual settings on my camera this trip and these 2 photos show the difference by just changing the shutter speed . 1/125th of a second and 1/15th of a second Paul's Hofner Violin bass , check John's Rickenbacker 325 and Epiphone Casino , double check MIA were the Vox amps Greeting us and introducing the show were the Master of the Ship Captain Leo and the Cruise Director Eddy And now in glorious black and white - A Hard Day's Night ! I'll be sharing 4 more videos when the last one has finished uploading . :D:) Based on last year (and other Beatles tribute bands we've seen on Princess ) we didn't go to this show. :( I LOVED the Beatles and the emphasis on physical resemblance to them always bothers me. Too bad - it sounds like we missed a good show.
Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted March 16, 2017 Author #195 Share Posted March 16, 2017 (edited) Most of the songs in the concert were from the Beatlemania years For me the most interesting part of the show was the studio years after the Beatles had quit touring and began recording music which they couldn't play in concert like Sgt. Peppers and Magical Mystery Tour . This came out the summer before my senior year in High School . But through the magic of technology the sounds could be duplicated with John playing an instrument that the Beatles never had - a synthesizer . Video - Sgt. Peppers : And here is a video of A Little Help From My Friends Video: They only did those 2 songs and it's interesting to see the Real Beatles video from that era in one of my favorites Hello - Goodbye . Video :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rblYSKz_VnI Finally they performed a lot from the years before the breakup . George did an excellent version of Something with some fine drumming from Ringo in this video . Video: And last of all was a sing along - Hey Jude , ending in a standing ovation . The video : Edited March 16, 2017 by scubacruiserx2
mustafabalcony Posted March 16, 2017 #196 Share Posted March 16, 2017 Thanks for your review. I'm really enjoying reading it as we're doing the same cruise, boarding this Sunday. Rare mom says Posted March 16, 2017 #197 Share Posted March 16, 2017 We really, really enjoyed Hard Days Night. On our cruise they had a standing o as well, and had to do 2 encores! DH and I rated it higher than any of the ship's production nights. Side note - much later that night I had a chance to chat with the drummer ( "Ringo"). I asked him how he thought the shows had gone that night. He said that it had been great. They often are asked to do an encore, but rarely are asked to do 2. They were very pleased by how well they were received. But then again, a lot of the audience (me included) were huge Beatles fans back in the day. When they did introductions at the end they mentioned that Paul ( Mitch Weissman) was one of the cast from Beatlemania on Broadway . We have a friend who painted a portrait of my wife in the late 80's who also appeared in Beatlemania as John for a short time . He didn't want to be typecast as a Beatle impersonator and so he pursued his own music and recorded on Atlantic records . His song "Talk to me ( Your body speaks my Language ) was a video on MTV in the 80's: The video showed none of his guitar playing because his solo was removed . He is singer /songwriter who has an truly amazing ability to play guitar which can be seen here uncensored : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIquu9ce_OM Edited March 16, 2017 by scubacruiserx2
