Super bowl at sea

Last Super Bowl cruise it was shown on MUTS, Showroom, comedy/bingo lounge at the aft, and on the cabin TVs.

(I never remember the names of the lounges)

There was food in the comedy lounge and the Showroom. Our first Super Bowl cruise was on a Mexican Riviera cruise. It was freezing watching it on MUTS.

There was a food lay out of various iyems for those watching the game on MUTS up on the main deck. Great experience watching the game on a huge outside screen. Go very early and claim a seat and stay put. Make freinds with someone near you or have your partner hold your seat if you have to leave. Have fun.

On Star this year they showed it on MUTS, Explorers, Vista Lounge, Casino bar and Church Hills smoking lounge. It was not televised in the cabins. They had appetizers and snacks set up in each area and it was quite festive.

i'll be on the Caribbean Princess during the Super Bowl Can you relay any info on your experience watching the game?

We were on Princess a few years ago. Watching some of the Superbowl in our room.

The TV satillite link doesn't break for commercials, so when it was supposed to be a commercial -- Phil Syms and Bryan Gumbal were chatting cheerleaders, eating and cursing !!! It was pretty funny and we couldn't get why we were seeing this!!!

Having the game shown in individual cabins depends on what type of rebroadcast license is purchased by Princess/CCL corp; at least this is what I was told in 2011 when we were on the Golden. The game was broadcast in public areas but not in individual cabins.....

It was that way on the Island this year. On MUTS and in Explorers Lounge but not in the staterooms. Food was available at both venues where the game was being shown.

I was on the Royal Princess this year for the Super Bowl and it was great. I watched it outside on MUTS. The best advice I can give you is get there early for a good seat. One guy told me he was there at 6:00am. Go Patriots!!! Hi Lew.

Definitely plan on getting to whatever venue you want to watch the game at early and plan to stick around. On the Ruby they had set up Club Fusion and the MUTS area but by 9AM both locations were completely full and people were getting a bit antsy. They finally announced that the Explorers lounge and TVs in Casino would have it. The game experience itself was awesome and there was lots of Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and snacks, Everyone had a ball and no one had to worry about driving home!

We've watched most of the recent Super Bowls (including one of my favorites, Super Bowl 50) on a Princess ship with MUTS. My blog has a lot of information about the experiences. However, I've tagged them all simply with the 'Football' label so there are some non-Super Bowl experiences (mostly playoff games and divisional championships) in these also.

Exactly !

I was on The Caribbean this year (2017), and it was a duplicate of your Star experience

They did replay the game the next morning in the cabins though

I will echo the sentiment; we have watched it at MUTS and it was a great time, like a giant super bowl party, but picture the caribbean breeze, sunsets, and lots and lots of people. We really enjoyed it! There was a little buffet set up on the deck.
