Carnival Gift cards 10% off for $500 gift cards? About to give up on ever getting

Thanks. I didn't even think about data usage, which isn't like me because I'm very conscious of how much I'm using since I don't have a lot to spare. That's probably a no-go for me, then. Oh well, I think I'll be able to get all we need through AARP, it just would've been nice to find a source that has them more readily available. We don't have any of the retailers that carry the cards around here. I've heard some of them have $25 denominations, which I wouldn't mind having. We're taking a family of five who've never been before and it'd be nice to give each of their three teens a $25 card (because I can't afford to give them each $100). I know I can get $100 and they can split it between them, but the OCD in me wants to give them their own. ;p I'm also planning on creating my own scavenger hunt for our group and some of the lower denomination cards would make great prizes. We might end up taking a short road trip to hunt them down.

You can e the drivewise app and only have it for one day and get up to about 18000 or 19000 points with the sign in bonuses and watching the videos for promo codes. That's enough to get some gift cards when AARP or Verizon are sold out if you have a cruise coming up.

I told a friend to signup and she got 4- $500 email gift cards just yesterday. neither of us have an allstate insurance account but scored all that savings. maybe they'll close that loophole soon though. :( I hope not cuz email cards are way better than the ones in the mail!

I was able to do it on my wife's phone. I have no idea why it forced me on mine. Now when I try to create an account, it says there's a problem with the system. :loudcry:

Change your user name. Mine kept doing that. I added a couple numbers to mine and it worked.

I just registered on the Allstate app but can't find where to enter the reward codes. Can anyone help? Thank you

You have to go to the actual webpage to enter promo codes.

On the app, go follow the "shop with points" link. Then the menu has promo code.

Where did you get the 15% cards:)?

There was a thread floating around for the last couple of days about it. Every year the U.S. Travel Association sponsors a promotion that offers deals on a bunch of different travel related services. Limited time/limited supply kind of thing and they offer a different one each day. Today's was the Carnival e-cards. Apparently this year was their first year partnering with Carnival. Maybe they'll see how big the response was and offer more next year.

I signed up and got the 5000 points plus 3000 for videos watched....didn't get the 10000 for downloading the drivewise app....am I missing something? Thanks

You need to sign up at www.allstaterewards.com

Make sure you're synced in with the app, and you're good to go. You should get 5000 for signing up, 10000 for the app tracking, plus more if you let it keep tracking you. Depending upon your driving habits, you can rack up points. You'll also get them for watching videos and redeeming promo codes from emails you receive.

You can't just download the app and not let it track you. Go through the steps and let it track you're driving for a couple of days. It does it through your smartphone. Once you log back on and see what has transpired, check your point total. Make sure it's all synced up properly and you should receive the 10000 points. I let it track me for two days and then I got rid of the app because it was always working in the background and slowly draining data. You can earn points by not driving over 80 or by not hard braking. How it determined a hard brake is beyond me, truly big brother watching.

Remember to use those cards, since they have a 11/30/18 expiration, unlike the no expiration on the Allstate, AARP, Verizon and Citicards offers.

Question: If I bring these cards on board and load them to my account, can I use that credit at the casino? If I have anything left over, can it be cashed out?
I believe the answers are yes, and yes, with a 3% take by the casino.

Yep, our cruise is in 6/18. We'll make the expiration and still have plenty of time to accumulate some more. :)

Let's assume I use the "slot machine" trick. Has anyone tried this?

I've never tried it, not a big casino guy, but I was just reading others talk about it last week. Sorry, I can't remember the thread, but more than one person said using the "slot machine trick," if it's the same one you're talking about, does not incur the fee. Hopefully others can confirm for you.

We did this on both of our B2B cruises this past January. We had a lot of OBC but none of it was from gift cards. Played a couple of spins and then cashed out. Did this on the last day of each cruise.

Go to guest services, have them put on your sail and sign card. Go to casino and use the option to get cash from your sail and sign card and play some slots then go to casino window and cash out. If it's a few hundred, I wouldn't do them all at the same time unless it's the last night of the cruise. You can also go to one of the kiosks and do it, but I've never tried it that way. And the casino doesn't charge any fee that I know of.
