SKP946 Posted May 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2017 I swim daily, even on Seabourn's "O" ships I manage to swim more than a kilometre a day (tethered) in the Deck 5, rear 12' (<4 m) pool. Are there any River ships with a small pool? Preferably in France.

Shmoo here Posted May 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2017 I swim daily, even on Seabourn's "O" ships I manage to swim more than a kilometre a day (tethered) in the Deck 5, rear 12' (<4 m) pool. Are there any River ships with a small pool?Preferably in France. I know I saw some river boats with what they call a "pool". Sort of an oversized hot tub. I don't know whether they had the capability of tethered/resistance swimming, though. They didn't seem large enough for that. Just big enough to get wet in. slidergirl Posted May 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Do a search of "Nile Adventurer" on the Nile. Sailed her back when it came out of multi-million dollar upgrade. Great small river ship - no more than 65 passengers, I believe. It has a small pool on the sun deck where you could probably tether and swim. capriccio Posted May 2, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Uniworld's 'new' super ships (Maria Theresa, Catherine, Antoinette and Joie de Vivre) all have small pools that seem unsuitable (too small) for swimming laps but some (if not all) have resistance jets. If you are doing a river cruise(s) in France I can definitely recommend the Rhone on the SS Catherine (we did that last year) and I'm sure the Seine on the brand new SS. Joie de Vivre is magnificent (we did that itinerary on an older, smaller Uniworld ship last year too).
Rare LHT28 Posted May 2, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Avalon may have a pool on some boats
marco Posted May 2, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Some do, some don't. Check the deck plans either on line or in the brochures for specific ships of pertinent lines.

Texas Tillie Posted May 2, 2017 #9 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Recently on the Crystal Mozart on the Danube and its pool (inside in the spa area) is about 16 feet long.
