Seapass colors

My answer may not be what they are looking for but the most obvious and not recommended is to have a medical emergency. 😱

Not a place I want to be on or leaving the ship from. 🤗

LOL!

I hope I never have to make use of the heli pad, but I love hanging out on the RCCL heli pads when sailing away from a port. Also a really nice spot to go stargazing at night as the bridge turns the lights off.

So because it's convenient for me to wear my card in a clear lanyard, I am flaunting and tacky??? Good to know that you take other people's inventory! SMH I don't see why everyone can't just do what they are comfortable with on a cruise (as long as it follows rules) and people STOP judging. WOW...just WOW.

Nobody said that. Your taking select statements out of context. Overly sensitive.

I was actually referring tp people who intently show it off .. not those who just wear a lanyard for convenience

Thanks for clarifying. I call it my idiot string. Hate carrying a purse and not all ladies pants have pockets. I have a visual image of flaunting and it's pretty funny. Let's all chill!:halo:

I have noticed that on each of my cruises over the last 4 or 5 years especially, I have been questioned about the color of my sea pass card. I don't wear a lanyard, and keep the card in my pocket or purse in a leather case. It has happened several times per cruise, usually when I've taken it out to order a drink and laid it on a table in front of me (still in the case) waiting for the server in the theater or buffet, and sometimes by the pool. I'm dumbfounded each time it happens. I'm not waving it around, or even taking it out of the case. But invariably someone notices me handing it to a server and questions it. I can honestly say I've never taken not of anyone else's card color, I just don't care. I guess that maybe others are more curious than I.

It's a little like the fashion police for what choices you make in clothing for dinner. For many of us, we have consciously decided on the convenience of a lanyard (for our BLUE, Regular balcony cabin). In that same sense, we are SO pleased to be able to have the suits and ties be optional for the men in our group. This will be our first cruise that we are able to pack without the bulky suits. We're excited about our cruise, just as we are about EVERY cruise and our excitement has nothing to do with impressing others and everything with enjoying ourselves. We are nice people and if our more casual approach to dressing for dinner (slacks and collared shirts and slacks for the men and dresses for women), and our lanyards mean you feel we aren't the type of people you want to meet and get to know, we're okay with that. We've been on well over a dozen cruises (we don't count) and we are just as excited each time we board a ship (with our lanyards).

Love Arno's display of the cards!

We also have saved all of our cards...We used to place them in each trip's photo album...Now our albums are digital but we save the cards,. Good proof of sailings if needed.,.if Cap Club or IT ever wipe out our info...

We keep ours in the leather X pouch and do our best to stay away from de magnetizing agents. Lanyards are nice too but we never had a hole punch or clear pouch....No reason to pick on folks who wear them

Or they start with how many days at sea they have, both total and yearly. Who cares?

Need a like button for this! LOL Especially with regards to responding here, more important is how recently one has sailed and how relevant the members experience is to the specific question being asked. :) I admit I have my sailings in my signature but people can ignore or hide as you see fit.

I do wish I got the ship perks for Elite, now that matters :)

When we first started sailing with Celebrity they charged you a fee to be a Captain's Club Member then it became free for a while after that my card would read "Founding Member" does anyone remember this? Not sure when this stopped I think when they started printing Classic, Elite, etc. on the cards.

Yup..we have that card too..

My lanyard is just big enough for the sea pass card. Also, right behind it is a zippered pocket. This way I can put my drivers license and some cash and/or credit card in it. That's all I need for going into port if I wish, or put my casino gambling money in for the evening. Never have to carry a bag or purse or have something dangling from wrist. I don't care what it looks like either! Now I never loose my card!

I agree love mine started wearing one maybe 2 cruises ago. I was the guy who always lost at least one or wore off the folio number and my name on the front of it going in and out of my pocket every single cruise. Plus when I go ashore it holds my photo ID and a credit card. When I was younger thought they were just for cruise geeks on Disney Ships. As far as the different colors.. its great just like American Express does, Green, Gold, Platinium, Black some people like to feel important. WE all Should!

It must be the New Yorker in us 'cause I do the same thing. In fact I usually throw them away on my way off the ship! I use a lanyard too but only because if I didn't DH would staple it to my forehead.....I have a nasty habit of forgetting where I put things like room keys, safe codes, stuff like that. :D[/quote

Throwing them away before you check your credit card statement may be a problem if you find an error. Your card has the folio number that you might need to help resolve a problem. Fortunately I had it when needed.

Thanks for the heads up...I never thought of that but I will keep it from now on. I always check the final bill against my own running tab and since it's always been correct figured I was ok. Only time I had any kind of problem was with a shore X that I missed because X lost DH's suitcase in FLL and the refund appeared on my credit statement without me doing anything.

Thanks. You saved me from having to construct a response that would not get deleted.

I didn't realize there were so many who are sure they know the only proper way to carry a room card. I think that those who think people are flaunting their cards says more about them than those they're pooh poohing

I carry my card in my bra........

Only pull it out to charge something or get into my room. Never even considered that someone might be checking out what color it is.

So if you see an old lady walking around with a rectangle outline on her boob.......that would be me!

Interesting Thread. My current pet peeve is that they can't seem to get all of "Elite Plus Member" on the card. The "r" always gets chopped off. This seems like such a simple thing to fix but, hey....

You keep this inside your bra and then hand it to the bar tender to have to handle?

Don't really sit at bars but would if I did. Don't have to show your card in Michaels. Where do you keep your card?

Based on the number of posts we see that start of "I'm Elite..." or similar, followed by something totally unrelated to their loyalty level, I'd say that there are more than Princess or Carnival passengers who love to display their status.

I love the posts that start off like that. The body of the post either complains about the all of the nickel and diming or cuts in service, food quality or elite benefits. It ends with asking the cruise line to create a higher level of status so they have another goal to achieve. What happened to just going on a cruise for the cruising experience. I have commitment issues. I look for the best itinerary and price. I couldn't care less what color my card is or what it says. I have never received poor service based on my status or should I say lack of status.

Love it! I think I saw you once, lol. When I read your post I was going to facetiously post that it wouldn't be long that someone would complain about where you keep your card, but then thought...nah....WRONG!!!

Simply amazing.
