Casino Comp Chick Posted June 28, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 28, 2017 NYC no longer has CAS boarding. The area it used to be is now for Platinum/Platinum + & Ambassador. I went to go there in June and was stopped and I said I was CAS and they pointed to the cattle area across from that area so I asked a woman how she got behind the rope and she said her tier so I called the guy back & showed him my P+ status and he let me in. Do they have CAS check-in in NYC? and even though the CAS sitting area may be re allocated....... do CAS still board before general boarding? Yes for check in but they don't have that "casino" card anymore, they gave me #5 but when they found out I was P+ they put me in the old CAS boarding area and we went before any numbers were called. Rare mking8288 Posted June 28, 2017 #12 Share Posted June 28, 2017 Do they have CAS check-in in NYC? and even though the CAS sitting area may be re allocated....... do CAS still board before general boarding? As recent as this May, NYC's Gem sailings - there was an exclusive CAS line to go thru security (keep right, ask the pier folks) - then, directed to CAS check-in area, it was separate & different than Plantinum/+. Sitting area was set aside, there was probably 200+ waiting due to delayed turnaround. P and P+ get to board first as there was maybe 75 to 100 of them at most, waiting to board - following VIP's and special needs. Quickly followed by CAS to board, ahead of general boarding for the rest (by zone, numbered card, etc.) This might well be different for the Breakaway out of NYC as it's a mega ship with more guests. In years past, CAS boarded ahead of Platinum on the BA. Of course, everything is subject to change, etc. etc. Folks that returned most recently, i.e. last week on specific ship with CAS and/or P/P+/A status could further elaborate - rather than a blanket generalization at busy ports, IMHO. Sand and Seas Posted June 28, 2017 #14 Share Posted June 28, 2017 So best to check in as CAS but board as Platinum plus in my case right? Just check out both lines and get in the best one for check-in. Then when you have your boarding card ask for the Platinum Plus area.

garycarla Posted June 29, 2017 #17 Share Posted June 29, 2017 I see no reason for CAS Boarding since the casino's are closed. Their in a hurry to lose their money? Funny. Assume it was posted at Tongue in Cheek at they say. CAS bookings were at one time treated as VIP. I think they were doing lower numbers of people, spending higher dollar amounts. It was an easy perk. Now they seem to be doing more CAS guests, though many on a smaller discount. Too many people and the rest of NCL (MAYBE) prefer to treat the real VIP/Tenured cruisers to that perk.

Sailing for the first time as a CAS person, what are the "way more perks"? I know we get a drink card for use in the casino. What else?

I am going to guess they are referring to the discounts on spa/on board purchases and comps for cruises. KarimaJ Posted July 24, 2017 #22 Share Posted July 24, 2017 This is our first CAS booking. The program says "embarkation" is a perk for all CAS levels. Does this mean a special check in line and earlier embarkation?
