Amex-WLCL Offer Returns

I've used this offer once about 6 or 9 months ago, don't see another new offer in my AMEX "benefits" package. I have 3 new cruises booked, and it would be nice to use the offer multiple times on different sail dates or cruiselines.

Oh well, at least there's Carnival gift cards at 10% discount from Verizon Wireless (until Oct 31) and AARP.

see my previous post. I didn't have it either, and after 4 customer service reps got someone to read the fine print and pretty much said they cannot just offer this to select cardholders. I made a $500 payment and contacted the rep back and she did a manual $100 credit on my account. Be persistent.

Question, does it give you the credit on your next Am. Exp bill? Or do you have to wait until after Dec.

The credit shows up right after the charge. They assign the credit after they see the charge from Carnival.

So I set up my account, hubby already had one, found it and added them to our card (green card). Then I have realized that I booked our cruise thru RCI Cruise and I need to pay them. So I called and they said it would be listed as Our Vacation Center. 1. Has anyone pd. thru another company not directly to the cruise company and Am Ex. still accepted it. 2. If it does work, I guess after I have charged, I have to go back in to Am Exp. and click redeem?

You will need to add the offer first. It will need to show as being billed by Carnival Corp. Any questions on how they do it should be asked of the TA.

Firemanbobswife is correct in that you will need to login to your Amex card account and "add" the offer to the card - the offer is redeemed when a charge that meets the terms of the offer come through to Amex. However, if you pay the TA and the charge comes through as anything other than "Carnival Cruise Line Reservations", it likely won't qualify for the offer. As mentioned, talk to the TA and ask how they handle payments from clients (i.e. do they pass the charge through directly to the cruise line or do they accept your payment under their merchant account with Amex then turn around and pay the cruise line from their funds).

I did not really address the OP's second question. If the original charge via the TA does not result in a redemption of the Amex offer, there is little that can be done. However, I "think" that you can login to your booking on the Carnival web site and make a subsequent payment directly to your reservation. I say I "think" because I'm not sure if you can make payments directly to a booking online when the reservation is through a TA. Perhaps others with experience in this one way or the other can chime in.

It's been my experience that when booking through a TA, all pricing/money matters are not visible as that's between you and the TA. One more reason I don't use one. Sorry, Jimbo [emoji6]!

But alas, the link that worked last time:

www.americanexpress.com/wlcl

which allowed you to add the offer to branded AMEX cards where the offer does not appear is not working this morning.

If anyone finds a way to get the offer added to a branded card posting it here would be much appreciated.

Link works today!

I added both my Delta Platinum cards to it.

Thank you for the update. I was able to add it to both my and my husband's Hilton AMEX card.

I was reading an article online from Travel & Leisure, it mentioned adding that link for savings for a Princess cruise, although my plan is for Carnival. I figured why not try it, it's been a month. Got lucky and thought I needed to share it here where some folks have saved me lots of money and given me awesome advise.

No. It has to show as Carnival Reservations. Fun Shops show as Fun Shops.

I got it added to my 3 cards! Woo hoo! Now where should I go next?!

I was hoping you were still following this post, I was primarily thinking of you when I posted the ability to add the link.
