You will be escorted off the ship for a brief time, come back on, and from that point it will be just like your first embarkation day, except you will be able to use your stateroom immediately if you have the same one as on the first cruise.

You can expect to be led off the ship, wait, then led back on. Checking out with the old seapass card and checking in with the new one

We did a b2b on the Adventure in January. We got an information sheet ahead of time and a meeting. That morning we met in a loung, given our new cards and waited to be escorted off and on. As it turned out we never had to get off. Just swiped the new cards to show we were on board. They gave us a special lunch in the mdr. Very organized. Enjoy.

If you should decide to get off the ship you will receive an in transit card which will allow you to skip the lines when you return.

Then yes, you will have to leave the ship briefly with the rest of the consecutive cruisers, go back through Customs/Immigration, ding back in with your new card and get a new SeaPass photo taken. Then you are free to roam the ship until the new passengers come on, which lately is pretty much immediately.

 

Are you lucky enough to have snagged the same cabin for both legs?

The port makes a difference, some insist the ship is cleared and others don't.

As I recall, virtually all US ports require a zero count before the consecutive cruisers are allowed to re-board. Tampa used to have CPB agents come on board so the consecutive cruisers did not have to leave the ship, but I've not heard of that happening in Tampa for quite a while.

We're doing back to bank on Harmony in October - our first as well. I realize the numbers will vary but generally speaking, how many people do a back to back on the larger ships? Several dozen or is the number into the hundreds?

Varies. Not unusual for there to be over 100 on an Adventure B2B. We've done an Indy B2B when there were only a handfull.

A day or two before the first leg of your cruise is over you will be given (left in your cabin) detailed instructions/procedures. Enjoy.

That was also our experience on the Jewel 2 April and 9 April 2017. All B2B procedures were taken care of in the Coral theater.

Yes we get to stay in the same cabin

Verify the info on your new sea pass is correct. We do b2b all of the time and once it had our stateroom number with someone elses name. No problem tho they quickly made us new cards. It's an easy peasy process and nice luncheon.
