karen_g Posted September 1, 2017 #52 Share Posted September 1, 2017 Now....lets see what's in store for us on September 10th??? Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk Yes indeed. I'm on the September 10th sailing also, and am hoping for the best. Since it's already a Western Caribbean itinerary, maybe everything will proceed as planned. Fingers crossed! :)
researchfreak90 Posted September 1, 2017 #53 Share Posted September 1, 2017 Well good to see they are making preperations for avoiding the huricane. The entertaining part is all those people who lost their heads over changing St Thomas to San Jaun, now they have all three ports changed, cant wait to see the thread of crying babies mad a Royal for this even though its not something anyone can control. Rude - changing a port due to mechanical and changing an itinerary due to weather are completely different. Why come here and poke the bear..... cltnccruisers Posted September 3, 2017 #57 Share Posted September 3, 2017 This is a great reason not to book a cruise during hurricane season. Also, if one must sail then, does cruise insurance give you the option of cancelling if switched from what, IMHO, is a more enjoyable Eastern itinerary to a 3rd world one? HallOfPromise Posted September 4, 2017 #60 Share Posted September 4, 2017 Anyone aboard willing to report any updates? If Irma takes these paths, Allure may skip Labadee.
VoyageReport Posted September 4, 2017 #61 Share Posted September 4, 2017 Cruisers: we've updated newly-issued airline travel waivers. So far, they affect eight airports in Hurricane Irma's path: AXA, ANU, EIS, SJU, STX, SKB, SXM, & STT. More on airline, cruise changes here. volk904 Posted September 4, 2017 #62 Share Posted September 4, 2017 Ok I wonder how Royal will address this for both the Harmony and Allure? For the Harmony would they slip in to FLL ahead of Irma and maybe leave Northeast out of its path? The Allure since it is a Sunday departure cruise seems to shaping up as. A problem getting back on Sunday Sent from my iPad using Forums
HallOfPromise Posted September 4, 2017 #63 Share Posted September 4, 2017 I wonder if Allure will skip Labadee and try to ride the tail of Irma, up and around from the bottom to the East. If Irma does go north into Florida, allure will probably sit in a holding pattern.
dada2199cc Posted September 4, 2017 #64 Share Posted September 4, 2017 On the Allure now, no one seems to be aware of Irma at all but I continue to track it. If it does curve north it may strike SoFla by Sunday. Will be interesting to see what the captain does after Cozumel tomorrow since some spaghetti models do should Jamaica and Haiti in possible paths. Clarea Posted September 7, 2017 #74 Share Posted September 7, 2017 Does Royal do anything about people's missed flights or no? Sometimes they will pay airline change fees, but I don't recall seeing that offered in this case.
