dkjretired Posted September 23, 2017 Author #126 Share Posted September 23, 2017 We just left Falmouth, next stop Miami on Monday. We have been to Falmouth before and done the falls a couple of times so we took it easy. Falmouth is a very nice clean shopping area and starting point for excursions. The shopping has some locals with booths and the usual Caribbean stores. There are some food stores such as Dairy Queen, Nathan's and Quiznos. Very popular is a Margaritaville restaurant. As others said, the area is gated and it I'd recommended that you don't leave the area. We spent a couple hours there and then spent the day at the pool. dkjretired Posted September 23, 2017 Author #128 Share Posted September 23, 2017 Don, I have 1 quick question, we were on Equinox 2 years ago and will be back on October 6th, there was a young English lad on the entertainments team called Jack (he did lots of the quizzes) just wondered if he was still about? Pleased you having great cruise, how is the southern Caribbean weather? G Weather has been hot in the 90s with very little breeze.
dkjretired Posted September 23, 2017 Author #129 Share Posted September 23, 2017 Don, where are you spending the day today? We are by the pool. I'd like to come by and say hello, since we've haven't had the chance to meet yet. We were also at Royal Palms, the 4 Seasons concert, and the silent disco last night. Tomorrow will be at main pool wearing a large grumpy t shirt can't miss it. Sunday last day
2theship Posted September 23, 2017 #130 Share Posted September 23, 2017 Maybe I am naive, but I have never known anyone on any of my sailings to be a professinal tour organizer. Next month, as we're driving from Ft. Lauderdale to Port of Miami, I'll tell you a few stories . . . . Pam

matondo Posted September 23, 2017 #132 Share Posted September 23, 2017 We just got off the Equinox on September 4. It was a wonderful cruise. So happy you are enjoying it as well. I think the name of the group is December 63 they performed on our cruise as well. It was so funny we were all standing and singing along. I looked down and thought how cool the whole crowd is swaying to the music and then I realized it was the ship movement causing everyone to sway in sync. There are two one that for lunch and dinner turns into a great pasta station and has pizza. The other turns into the grill for L @ D.
helen haywood Posted September 24, 2017 #135 Share Posted September 24, 2017 Don, we're on this cruise as well. Have you noticed the offers in the flyers in the Daily Program sheets to stay on for the next cruise due to the hurricane cancellations? Last night's offer sounded really good....alas, I have a husband who wants to get home....

[emoji39] Sent from my SM-G900P using Forums mobile app Hi Helen I didn't notice but they just made an announcement at the pool to see guest services. I'll check the dailies even though we wouldn't be able to do it as we have a bit of an emergency at home. dkjretired Posted September 24, 2017 Author #138 Share Posted September 24, 2017 Random thought before I forget. We were in Aruba from 11 to 11 and the Casino opened at 3. Also one of the busiest casinos I have seen on a cruise from the first day at sea. Probably because the demographic is a bit older. Felt like it was bus day in Atlantic City. Slots very tight as expected.

Last night's offer sounded really good....alas, I have a husband who wants to get home.... They have been pushing very hard trying to sell the empty cabins for the Sept 25 sailing. Offering $500 off per cabin. Problem is, per the Celebrity web site, the prices are sky high. Least expensive is an Oceanview priced over 2X what I paid for Aquaclass months ago! I agree completely, another thought while I'm st the pool. There have been complaints recently of lack of pool servers. That has not been the case on this cruise even in the Solarium. That has not been the case on this cruise even in the Solarium. Thanks for all the updates while you were on the Equinox. I hope you made it home without any complications. I have read that the debarkation process in Miami is usually pretty fast and easy. I assumed that was because the passengers cleared customs in Key West. What was your debarkation process like? miched Posted September 26, 2017 #145 Share Posted September 26, 2017 I agree completely, another thought while I'm st the pool. There have been complaints recently of lack of pool servers. That has not been the case on this cruise even in the Solarium. We were on the Silhouette in Mar and would sit in the Solarium. The first few days there were servers. The fourth day none ever came around. I called for the bev manager about the lack of service and he said that they quit serving in there because passengers were complaining about being constantly asked by the servers. I said then they should put signs somewhere or post it in the paper stating so instead of having passengers getting ticked because there is no service. He reply was we can't put signs everywhere or publish everything about what we do and don't do. My reply was then don't be surprised when the bar service gets a bad rating for service. He said that is my choice but I shouldn't condemn the whole ship etc, etc ..... Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌞

Sailed through customs, first cruise since they changed the procedure and you don't need the customs form. Bus waited awhile but we expected that, arrived in Pa around 6.
