Sent from my iPhone using Forums you don't have that long to delay getting to port. Id just sit near baggage claim for awhile. There are chairs near escalator up to car rental area. Head to port at

cb at sea Posted October 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 16, 2017 Yes..I'd go to breakfast..take your time. Boarding won't start until around 11am....if you get there much earlier, it's standing and waiting....
Palmetto Pilot Posted October 17, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2017 our last cruise we landed at FLL at 0830 by the time we got our bags, got an uber and made a Publix stop it was 0930-0945 and we just went straight to the port. The porters took our bags and we waited about an hour and a half to start boarding, but I'd rather wait at the port than anywhere else.
amber381 Posted October 17, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Thanks for the advice! Now 8:30 doesn’t seem quite so bad!
OCruisers Posted October 17, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Figure 9am before you get your bags, spend an hour eating breakfast, head over to the port. Good Advice Above! (y) That's exactly what we would do and would have suggested! :D
volk904 Posted October 17, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Get to the port by 10 and you will on board by 11:30 in most cases. Sent from my iPad using Forums
cruisinfanatic Posted October 17, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 17, 2017 A couple weeks ago on Harmony, we left hotel a little after 10. Got to port at 10:20. A small delay at security. Didn't want to let us through because we had no cabin assigned yet. Checked in and walked on before

Homosassa Posted October 17, 2017 #11 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Luckily, there doesn't appear to be any of those frontal passages that tend to have thunderstorms and shut down Florida airports predicted for this Saturday.
Bootman4U Posted October 17, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 17, 2017 I live IN Fort Lauderdale. Trust me: getting to Port Everglades from some hotel and doing it from our airport are two entirely different things. When you arrive here, especially on a weekend when there are THOUSANDS of other cruise ship passengers arriving you will understand what I mean. I'd get OUT of the airport as soon as I could. Get that Uber person to drop you off somewhere for breakfast as there are plenty of places along the way and then go to the port.
GSOTall1 Posted October 17, 2017 #13 Share Posted October 17, 2017 You touchdown at 8:30am assuming the plane isnt late. +15 min to get off the plane, +15min waiting for baggage claim,Grab breakfast at the airport +30min. +45min to get to port (traffic on cruise day is awful). Now it's 10:15am and the port is now accepting arrivals. +15 to get through security, +15 to get through check-in (more if you don't check in online). Now would you look at that. It's 10:45am and they start boarding at 11am? +15min to say hello to a few people around you since you'll be on vacation together for the next couple days! Rare Keith1010 Posted October 17, 2017 #14 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Just hope there is no travel delays. I second this. Never like flying in the day of the cruise. Keith
akc Posted October 17, 2017 #15 Share Posted October 17, 2017 On Saturday we will be be sailing on Harmony OTS. Our flight gets into FLL a little before 8:30am. Any suggestions on how to kill time? Are there any breakfast places around the port? First time at this port. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Forums Last time there we rented a car and drove to the Hard Rock Hotel and casino. We had a great breakfast and put $20 in a slot machine. Turned it into $20. Turned the car into rental agency right outside cruise terminal around 1 and they took us to the ship. It worked perfectly. Can’t remember the car rental agency but it was the one that had a drop off at the cruise terminal. Hope this helps. normr Posted October 18, 2017 #16 Share Posted October 18, 2017 You can use Bags to Go at the airport, they can deliver your bags to the Port and you can Uber or Lyft over to any place you want to go to eat or if you have time after breakfast, you can go try the Water Taxi if a bit Here is the response from Bags to go: For as low as $10 per bag, passengers arriving into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport can have Bags To Go deliver their luggage directly to any #cruise ship leaving from Port Everglades.
