How do I solve he problem on letting him play in the water like his older brother. We are going on the triamph You have 2 options - 1 bad and 1 good. good - obey the rules and keep him out of the pool Bad - break the rules and let him go in to the water which will result in them having to drain and disinfect the pool. This will mean that the rest of us will not be able to swim. I hope that you select the good option. DON
horsegal Posted November 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2017 There is no way around it, babies and toddlers not potty trained can't use the pools or splash areas. It's because swim diapers do not fully contain everything. We cruised with my 15 month old, just found other things to do besides the pool, which would have been hard to use anyways. There is no shallow end and many kids are in the pools pushing and jumping in, I have been almost jumped on many times. Rare Keith1010 Posted November 8, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 8, 2017 I am not being funny. Just make a big deal about a bath time because the pool is not an option. Keith
Underwatr Posted November 8, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 8, 2017 Take a plastic dishpan (a dollar or two at Walmart) and give him his own splash pool on the deck.
Living4acruise2day Posted November 8, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 8, 2017 Since only suites have bath-tubs, I have read many times of people bringing blow up apparatuses. Perhaps you can find one doable as a mini pool?

DON Option number THREE: bring a small inflatable blow up pool. put a few inches of water in it and let him splash around. bonus: this can double as a bathtub
cb at sea Posted November 8, 2017 #10 Share Posted November 8, 2017 Yes... a blow up TUB will give him the "splash" area, without taking up too much precious deck space. It's also useful for bathing a child in a shower, which is what will be in your cabin, unless you're in a suite. The other option is to not take him to the pool deck, so he won't know what he's missing!

mjkacmom Posted November 8, 2017 #15 Share Posted November 8, 2017 Hey mjkacmom you are 100% correct. My bad. Sorry Trinity4er thought I was helping. Nevermind. I think the majority of people assume the splash areas are ok for swim diapers, since they are not actually swimming.

MarkSeattle Posted November 8, 2017 #19 Share Posted November 8, 2017 You’re not supposed to use small swim pools either. Dirty diaper water can get all over the deck and risk other passenger’s health and drains into the grey water or possibly pool not the black water system. They’d have to close half the deck and possibly drain the pool to clean up your mess. Inflatable pool toys other than water wings are generally banned anyway. CruiseGal999 Posted November 8, 2017 #20 Share Posted November 8, 2017 I don’t plan on putting him on the actual pool. I am looking for options or ideas for him to be able to enjoy something similar. This isn't true. You stated in your original post "how can I have him play IN THE WATER like his older brother"? Simply, you don't. Babies are NOT allowed in the pool(s) and contaminating them so no one else on the ship can swim and enjoy the pool(s) is very selfish. Can you leave your baby with grandparents? DON Yes, I can. That's why I said it might not be OK with the ship/fellow passengers. It might work if you had a balcony.
kitty9 Posted November 13, 2017 #23 Share Posted November 13, 2017 With all due respect, I hardly think a 1 year old will care that his big brother is swimming and he’s not. There’s so much going on around the infant that he will be too busy taking it all in to care whether anyone is swimming.
