Lunch on embarkation day

We are sailing on the Breakaway this Friday. It it the first time we have sailed NCL in about 10 years. We have a 3:00PM departure time, so, I would assume we will be boarding about 11ish. I know they serve lunch in the buffet, but are any of the 3 main dining rooms also open for lunch and what time might they be open from?

Cheers

Len

Priority boarding starts around 11:00 am (Havens/Suites, Ambassador members, Platinum Plus Members, Platinum Members, Casino guests). General boarding will start around 11:30 a.m. Arrive at the port by 10:30 to avoid the crowds at security and check-in.

The buffet will open at 11:30

O'Shehans will open at 11:30

Taste/Savor Main Dining Rooms will open at Noon (Manhattan Room is only open for dinner).

Margaritavill (extra fee) will probably be closed due to the weather

The Havens restaurant (for Havens guests only) will open at Noon

We always eat at Taste/Savor upon boarding (whichever is open); it's our boarding tradition. Food is always good and I find the service pretty quick.

I highly recommend going to Taste/Savor, whichever is open, for your embarkation day lunch. It's a much better experience than any other place on the ship. Not crowded, quiet, relaxing, food served quickly...just a lovely way to start your cruise.

i dont get how people love osheehans wings. they are breaded. wings are not supposed to be breaded.

food there is always the worst anywhere on the ship except at 1am when you are drunk.

They are very lightly breaded...almost like being seasoned. I like them plain with the sauce on the side. I love the fajitas as well :). Some of the other food is suspect (the fish and chips look like they came from a vandekamps box) though.

wouldn't you have to say, this is your opinion and not necessarily fact. It isn't supposed to be gourmet food, just fast, food that some call comfort food. You say wings are not supposed to be breaded, based on what? I would guess 50% or more of all wings I have had from all over the USA have been breaded. I know people who will not eat them any other way.

For many O'Sheehan's is a fun place to go for a quick bite, nothing more, nothing less.

Vandekamp box, God I have heard mention of Vandekamp's for years. Thanks for the memory.:D As for the fish and chips: they are obviously from some box but for a quick bite they are ok.

On our first cruise last year on the Epic, we took the kids to the MDR for lunch. They loved the fact that they could get whatever they wanted. I had a deal with them that they needed to try at least one new thing every day. We will be doing this again in 71 days when we get on the Getaway out of Miami. Can't wait.
