Regency Reward Posted January 20, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Didn’t want to be “one of those people” but my experience was not a good one. While some staff was very good, most were unfriendly and just plain uninterested. This was my 15th cruise and by far the worst. Just wanted other people’s take on things is all Sent from my iPhone using Forums
jsf Posted January 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Got off a couple of weeks ago and was not excited about the ship or food or staff (28 cruises). The ports we have been to many times and that should be changed. I'm not in favor of 5 night cruises and that might color my view. J.
imlulu Posted January 20, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2018 We did the same cruise. Our experience was different and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The weather was a damper but overall a relaxing cruise.
JMG Posted January 20, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 20, 2018 We were on the 9 day ABC cruise ahead of you. We found the crew to be friendly. One thing that we did not care for was Breakfast in the Windjammer. At the aft station, the would prepare the fried eggs and put them on a hot table. You were to take your eggs from there. Problem is, they sometimes cooked more than were needed and they sat on the hot table. For me, nothing is worse than cold eggs! I tried to order the eggs but they would always point to the hot table. So, we stopped getting the fried eggs. We felt this was one of our better cruises. We met lots of new friends. Our cabin steward was amazing. Last morning we did not get a hard copy of our ship account. We asked her about it and she called and asked them to print out another statement since she did not receive one from us. Within 20 minutes she knocked on our door with the statement. Bar service..we have always found that a $1 bill works miracles. Yes, the drink includes gratuity but this insures us even better service. Sorry to hear that your experience was not up to par.

Bkchero Posted January 22, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Sorry you did not enjoy it. I know you saw my review since you replied in the thread so you know my experience. Maybe some of the crew you dealt with were about to rotate out? Hopefully your Eagles winning helps a little. . .

Just wanted other people’s take on things is all Sent from my iPhone using Forums If you got off the ship on the 19th, we were on the same sailing. There were many crew that were getting off with us, and over the next two months. Of all those I spoke with (bar tender, wait staff, Coffee Staff, casino host, dealers) I was not able to find one that would still be on this ship when we go back on March 16th. My experience was less than great as well. The staff were disinterested, and many times unfriendly. While not my worst cruise, this was one of the worst with RCI. SoFla_KJ Posted January 22, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 22, 2018 I was on the same Navigator cruise last week. Personally, I had a great time. For the price that I paid, I felt that I got more than my money's worth. I have gone on much more expensive cruises and yes, the ships were nicer, food was better, staff was extremely professional, etc. I paid $360pp to go on a 5 night cruise and it was money well spent! It was a great time and I had a lot of fun.
SAS21 Posted January 22, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 22, 2018 We just got off Navigator on the 14th. I thought the ship was in good condition considering her age. The cabin needed some TLC in area's but overall good. The staff were all friendly and courteous even in Windjammer. However, my biggest complaint is the MDR menu, old and tired, too many repetitive items. RCI needs to change the menu desperately. We ate dinner in Windjammer more on this cruise than any others we sailed. Everything else was satisfactory for us.
bobinsanantonio Posted January 22, 2018 #12 Share Posted January 22, 2018 We did the 9-day ABC cruise at the beginning of the month. At first, there was a sense of disorganization, but it smoothed out. Don't have any complaints, and a lot of praise for our waitress (Elgin). Badgertr Posted January 23, 2018 #13 Share Posted January 23, 2018 We did the ABC itinerary early December and found the staff unfriendly, in general, not all of them. MDR service extremely slow, one night we missed a show we wanted to see. Sent from my iPad using Forums

The availability of ports in the Caribbean is finite, especially for shorter cruises. No need to change these as they are incredibly popular. ready set cruise Posted February 10, 2018 #15 Share Posted February 10, 2018 I'm going on Navigator March 25th for the Western Caribbean to Costa Maya and Cozumel. Would you remember if they offered a Beer sampling event on a sea day? It's not showing up on the cruise planner. We went on Indy in Dec and it was offered. It was a hit! As far as your original post, I felt similar to my Indy experience in Dec. It wasn't the worst and I did get my money's worth but it wasn't the WOW experience of past cruises. There was a lack of organization and communication between the ship's staff concerning Compass events and dining experience. We had to wait almost 1 hour from ordering our food to it being served to us. Several times in the MDR, they never took our drink orders or asked if we wanted tea or water. I had chalked it up to the staff being in training or something for the larger ships. As far as events, times were messed up and the events was not suppose to be listed for that cruise. bobert Posted February 10, 2018 #17 Share Posted February 10, 2018 We were on the ABC 9 night that left the day this thread was started and yes we did have some issues, but our cabin attendant, waiter and the Diamond Lounge Concierge were among the best I have ever had. Yes MD service is never really fast, unless you ask for it to be so. We had excellent service in Chops both times we were there but there were service/coordination issues. For example on the last night I heard several people complaining that they had booked based on a discounted rate in that days Compass but the waiters were not aware of it and made the people feel like they were doing them a favor to honor the discount, which made for some angry reactions. If you publish a rate then it shouldn't be a surprise to the staff of the restaurant. Overall the ship looks pretty good but I must say that we had issues with our cabin. Neither the TV nor the sliding door to the balcony worked and it took three days of complaints to get them fixed, and it was our cabin attendant that kept telling us if they didn't fix it properly the last time then call again and again and again until they finally fixed them on day three. We must have had at least six visits from maintenance before someone finally resolved the issues. I must say that we were not lucky with the quality of meat we got in the MDR for either of nights that we tried the Prime Rib, the Fillet of Beef or the Steak Diane, despite the fact that I heard other people specifically praise these dishes. So I think it is a matter of taste and also the luck of the draw. Overall the MDR food was not as good as some others this year but Chops was definitely the star as Giovani's was good and Izumi was not. I will comment that I have never been one to eat in the Windjammer for dinner but I did look in most nights and on several it clearly would have been a better choice for food at dinner if we had eaten there instead of the MDR. While my food impressions were not great overall I must praise breakfast in the Windjammer. They had two big pluses as far as I am concerned, the bacon was much better than it ever has been and they were making fresh hot waffles that were among the best I have ever had in my life. So while this is not a health or weight endorsement, a breakfast of fresh hot waffles, and thick crispy bacon was a real treat for me each morning. So while this cruise had some major issues we are booked again on her for this itinerary this time next year.
duncantuna Posted April 12, 2018 #18 Share Posted April 12, 2018 We got off the Navigator a couple weeks ago, 5 day cruise. Our family of 4 had a great trip, in total. Sure, there were some annoyances: The Windjammer is pure chaos during peak hours, breakfast and lunch. Highly recommend the Main Dining Room for breakfast. There was usually a line to get in, but it was under 5 minutes. And perhaps common to cruise lines .. the pool water temperature was freezing cold, so my kids wouldn't go in it, which was unfortunate. On the plus side, we stayed in a grand suite room, and that was quite nice. We did not get a drink package, but had access to the suite (concierge) lounge where they had a complimentary bar. We'd pop by there before dinner, have a drink, mingle with the other suite dwellers, then get a glass of wine to take to dinner. That's a huge perk. I'd forgotten cash the first night, so on the 2nd, tipped the bartender $20 .. from then on, the drinks were huge pours. The Navigator's ship, service, and food were generally good. racerxspeedy Posted April 12, 2018 #19 Share Posted April 12, 2018 We will be boarding NOS tomorrow for the 9 day. We did Adventure a few weeks ago and enjoyed it very much, It will be interesting to see if we experience any problems.

racerxspeedy Posted April 13, 2018 #21 Share Posted April 13, 2018 Taking the hotel shuttle to Navigator now! I have read complaints about the MDR food and the rolls now being placed in a bowl on the table. This didn’t bother us on Adventure, but what did bother me was the replacement of butter with margarine spread. Lots of little things start to add up.
