Police hauled 2 people off Breeze in Galveston

Best advise, if you have a warrant best to not cruise or you will get arrested on your return

The Breeze just docked due to fog and I was watching the cruise cam and 4 police officers boarded the ship (crew entrance) an just escorted 2 people off in hand cuffs.:o what a way to end your vacation!!

They got caught.

If you search yesterday's date, I'd assume it's the two arrested on Harborside Dr in Galveston.

If you are like me and sign onto the Galveston webcams you see this more than you can imagine. Galveston has one of the best cams that I've seen. Their address is http://www.Galveston.com/webcams. Then for great closeup of going on at the dock chose the cruise cam.

A Carnival rep recently told us that if you have a warrant out for your arrest, they will let you cruise, then arrest you when the ship docks.

Well... that's not true. It's not uncommon to see someone walked off the ship in handcuffs on many arrivals back here in Galveston.

 

If someone has a cruise booked and know they have a warrant, even a traffic warrant they should get it taken care of. Their vacation could be in jeopardy.

I heard that the one was arrested for saving poolside chairs longer than an hour and the other for taking pictures of the photos on display for sale. There was a third person not shown that was arrested for participating in the hairy chest contest with no hair.

It is not uncommon for people to be taken off the ship by law enforcement. I have seen it several times in person and a few times on the Galveston webcam.

Probably bought "drugs" in Cozumel. Blame it on the dogs that know how to "sniff".

For those still speculating for some reason, chtx82 posted a link to the police files. It appears the male was arrested for Fugitive From Justice (Louisiana), and the female for Out of County Warrant.

 

So yeah, kinda dumb to go on a cruise, knowing you are coming back through Customs and Immigration, if you are actually "Wanted".

The last time my Wife had to go to the local DPS office to get a new photo taken the troopers arrested 2 people and took them away in handcuffs. The first thing they ask you for is your DL/ID then run you for wants and warrants.

 

CBP does the same thing apparently based on the ship’s manifest.

 

Clear out your warrants before sailing.

I have been told the same. They check all passengers to see if they have warrants. They let you have a grand old time on the cruise then arrest you as you leave the boat!

Another little-known benefit of cruising. If you think you might, but just are not sure, if you have an outstanding warrant, a cruise is a great way to find out!
