Got the Email - No Medallion on our Cruise

Got an email yesterday for our 4/8/18 trip on the Regal stating our cabin will not be medallion ready BUT listed a whole bunch of fluff a rookie might think is wonderful that we still can use. Free unlimited wifi was one because we are platinum. Is that really a extra perk? I think they are just blowing smoke up my pantaloons. Has anyone called and received OBC because cabin not ready? I had our TA call and try but failed with 3 different folks. I think she wasn't aggressive enough but she has more at risk than we do.

Yes, we got an OBC per person because our cabin on the 4/1 sailing was not ***** ready. Even though we booked thru a TA, called ourselves and spoke to rep who said not eligible. Asked her to check with her supervisor, came back and had the OBC.

The unlimited internet is fantastic and fast. Everyone who is Platinum and elite get that for now on the Regal whether or not they have the medallion. One the ***** is working 100%, that will go away.

 

Did you book prior to Princess changing the terminology from Ocean Medallion sailing to Ocean Preview Sailing for your cruise? If you did, then call Princess yourself and tell them how disappointed you are about not receiving an ***** stateroom. Ask for some OBC in lieu of the *****. Ask to speak to customer relations.

We're on the Feb. 18 cruise of the Regal in a cabin without *****. I called Princess and received $50 per person onboard credit. People on our roll call have reported different amounts--some $60, some $100, but others just the $50 like we're getting. The $50 per person was satisfactory to me since we booked the cruise after it was changed from an Ocean Medallion Voyage to Ocean Medallion Preview.

We had the same experience as Geoherb - booked after it was changed to “preview” and used a travel agent. I called princess once last month and once this month and each time they were willing to throw some OBC my way. Not enough to make a difference but still a nice PR gesture.

Interesting. We are booked on what was to be the first Caribbean Princess Medallion cruise. They simply removed the notation for the listing. No longer a "medallion" cruise. No email, no OBC, nothing but an ordinary next cruise.

 

Which is fine with us....we always do a winter Caribbean cruise and we do like the Caribbean Princess.

If TA fails to get you some OBC for this , call yourself .

I did not contact my TA , just made the call myself for 4/9/18 Royal.

It was about a month agp . Princess may be getting stricter since so many here on CC jumped on the request when it was first posted.

The free unlimited internet was explained as being a benefit for "platinum and elite" cruisers, not everyone on board. Once ***** is running there will be other options besides buying minutes. I think 3 programs like one for e-mail, one for social media and one for unlimited use with a daily rate for each. At least I remember reading about that.

Unlimited sounds great but as long as they don't take away my regular minutes when they institute the multiple layer options I'll be happy. On our last cruise neither one of us used all of our minutes even though the Internet access was quite slow. We each had 500 minutes and probably had something like 150 minutes apiece left over at the end of the cruise.

That $50p/p OBC is probably for the Reduced Operational Speed that is affecting port times well into next year , that Princess is giving all Caribbean Princess guests.

Not sure how they figure

Amounts but with free gratuity’s and now OBC things are looking real good 16x🍸👍

This will be our 9th Sailing with them and never a bad experience

I'm cruising on the Regal on March 18. I don't have ***** because I just booked this week with the casino rate. As a Platinum does this mean I will have unlimited internet?

Yes, MedallionNet is free and unlimited to all Platinum and Elite passengers on Regal during the Ocean Preview cruises.
