Cruise_Couple Posted February 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2018 I do not see them listed anywhere (checked several lists found on this board) but I am wondering if Royal Caribbean ships (in particular Anthem of the Seas) serves the following cocktails: Slo Gin Fizz Alabama Slammer Thank you for any info you can provide. matj2000 Posted February 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2018 I am fairly certain the ships don't carry sloe gin. Mainly because those drinks have not been popular in over 20 years...
NolaFireLI Posted February 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2018 Sorry, but it would be my belief that ANY bartender, on ship or land should be able to make these drinks in order to call themselves a bartender!! I wouldn't over-think it - you're on vacation after all! CHEERS!

I wouldn't over-think it - you're on vacation after all! CHEERS! It has nothing to do with the bartender. The main ingredient(sloe gin) is kind of necessary to make it. SRF Posted February 16, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 16, 2018 Heck, they didn't have any Creme de Menthe on Grandeur in August. And they ran out of Cachaca.

I was told in April that no Crème de Menthe on any Royal ships anymore. I did enjoy it this month on the Celebrity Equinox.
Rare kernow Posted February 16, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 16, 2018 Thank you for confirming that I am an "old fart"!!! ;p Come to the UK, you'll be very fashionable. :) Sloe gin (in fact all kinds of gin) has become trendy in the last couple of years, there are specialist gin bars popping up everywhere. Not sure RCL has caught on yet but I bet it won't be long until the ships sailing out of Southampton will have a bigger range. Julie
Chitoryubt Posted February 17, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 17, 2018 I saw on the "Deluxe Beverage Package" flyer that they have a cocktail called a "gin fizz". I didn't see the word "sloe" on the flyer. I've attached the flyer - got it in late January from the CC boards. rccl_2049RCQ42017DeluxeDrinksPackageFlyer.pdf

Maybe you will learn about it when you get older......
Rare CatLadyFemme Posted February 17, 2018 #18 Share Posted February 17, 2018 I was told in April that no Crème de Menthe on any Royal ships anymore. Wait - what? Got my first very beverage package for my upcoming cruise on the 26th, partially in order to get non-stop Grasshoppers. This is incredibly disappointing. If YOU know what's in something that they don't know, tell them, and it will be done. Yup. I was impressed on Liberty when the bartender went off to a restaurant to get honey to make my wife a Black Jack. I gave her the recipe and she made it. Did a pretty good job at it too. But OP, if you're into "serious" cocktails you're probably not going to find them on the ship. I tried to get a Sazerac, but they don't stock absinthe. They're best at making things like pina coladas and other tropical drinks. They try to make more interesting drinks, but they haven't caught up to the good bars on land. Their best effort this last cruise was a tequila sunrise riff with mezcal, but as with most of their mixed drinks they added way too much sugar. And the mezcal they were using wasn't the greatest either.

There is a lovely early grey one and my wife tried Parma violets last month. (Sounds yuk to me)
