showers had been predicted for Bruges and we warned to take coats and umbrellas. Once again, we lucked out and Bruges weather was gorgeous. We were lugging all the paraphernalia for nothing.

Rain was predicted for Vlissingen and when I was up early in the morning, the fog was very thick and it was raining.

The forecast was right and it was lightening, thundery day with rain.

We weren't scheduled to be in Vlissingen long as we would be in Antwerp that night, so I decided to head out and see a bit of Vlissingen. I had originally planned to go to Middleburgh but with the weather it didn't seem it would be enjoyable.

The port provided a shuttle to Vlissingen (about 7 kms away)

The final look at Vlissingen. Can't take pics in the rain and I decided to return to the ship. It was time to start considering packing and we were cruising the Scheldt river later and I didn't want to miss that.

It would be a full schedule with our arrival in Antwerp tonight.

Antwerp is an enchanting place. I've probably used that word too often in this thread but a lot of these places are truly wonderful.

Here are some pics from our sail in.

We really lucked out on weather overall, Denise.

I can't complain about a bit of rain all things considered. It was actually warmer in Ireland than it was here when we arrived home. And it was teaming rain too, of course.

I never book cruises on board. I like to do a bit of research and, have my eye on two different ones in April next year on ... guess which ship?

Need to check out a few things and hopefully I can access the old HAL site as it makes things a lot easier ;)
