The Westerdam will be the first HAL ship to visit Juneau this season. She will be at the CT dock (Cruise Ship Terminal) from 1300-2200 (local time). We will have a good view of her since no ship will be docked at the Alaska Steam Ship Dock.

Unfortunately, the weather will not be very nice. High is predicted to be 45F/7C and the low 40F/4.5C and there is a 100% chance of rain. Sunrise is at 5:03 am and sunset at 8:48 pm.

Also in port is Norwegian Pearl at the AJ dock from 1400-2200.

No other 'dam ships until next Monday, May 7.

The Juneau harbor webcam can be found at http://www.juneauharborwebcam.com/ .

Here is a map of the docks in Juneau.

Unfortunately, weather looks really bad. Maybe it will clear up by this afternoon.

Yup, the cruise lines extend the Alaska season a little more each year, and this early in the season the weather is really a crap shoot. Not to mention that not everything is even up and running yet.

Special thanks to you, Scrapnana, for all you do for us cruise-aholics who live vicariously:D

NA just ahead of us [already docked] as we [Zaandam] approach our pier in San Diego.

We appear to turning around to face out. We are here until 11pm.

ETA: Nope, facing in, we appear to have a tent as a terminal. right across the pier from NA.

Sorry about the cold San Diego weather today. Anyone going on to Alaska will be prepared to "layer" but probably didn't expect cold weather this early in the cruise!

We are eagerly waiting for some reports on the Zaandam post dry-dock!

Ships seem to be moving very slowly. I wonder if it has to do with the weather.

Marine traffic looks very different than four months ago and the old positions don't seem to go away so it is hard to tell where the ships really are.
