ignites Posted May 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2018 Is there a reason that a number of the balconies on deck 7 on ovation are listed as partially obstructed but is not the case on anthem or quantum? Almost the entire mid-ship for deck 7 is listed as obstructed according to the deck plans. Im wondering as I'm considering switching into one of these 'obstructed view balconies' for my cruise. Thanks!

coops Posted May 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2018 I have a Spa Junior Suite on deck 7 on Ovation and it doesn't say any obstruction. Is it the whole deck 7?

No. Look at the deck plans. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/ovation-of-the-seas/deck-plans/1772/07 The odd little shadowy square means "obstructed". Chiliburn Posted May 12, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 12, 2018 The only suggestion I can offer is the ovation is set up different for higher capacity for tendering. At the captains corner captain hindrick said, the ovation has the highest tender capacity in the world. Purpose built for under developed ports. The obstruction would be miner,I would be more concerned with the smoking area.

Chiliburn Posted June 23, 2018 #10 Share Posted June 23, 2018 Smoking areas are up on the pool deck, mid ship on the left side near the pool. On the promenade deck on the right side toward the back that affects some off the cabins. There’s a YouTube thing, the worst cabins

On the anthem, must be like those old smoking rooms in airports .you don’t have to light up a cigarette LOL

Can't recall if Quantum had similar enclosure. The area looks quite comfortable with padded seats and a view of the sea/ocean. Quite a few Pax at around the 6AM or earlier mark. Noticed when I did my morning walk/jog as the upper deck was too windy and chilly.
