Thinking of booking the MSC Divina is this a good ship?

Can't find a lot of reviews on the Divina. Thinking about booking it for 21 day b2b in the Caribbean. Been on over 40 cruises on Carnival, Princess, NCL and Celebrity. Currently have 2 weeks on the Seaside booked in 2019 but is the Divina a lot different?

What are the things you love and hate. Looking at an inside since we are never in our cabin except to shower and sleep and had a balcony last time and only went out on it once.

Give me the good and bad.:D

Everything is good with the Divina , we have been on her 7x and like her much more than the Seaside.

My favorite ship to date. I absolutely loved the Divina. It is such an elegant ship with beautiful decor and spacious staterooms. The international clientele can be seen reflected everywhere, from the food, to the entertainment, to the music, to the different languages, etc. I love that most about MSC, the European base. The longer dinners, multilingual passengers and crew, Reggaeton in the clubs, etc are all part of the reason why my MSC Divina cruise, which I booked to celebrate my birthday off of a freak sale I couldn't say no to to all places I had been before, ended up being my favorite cruise. I actually won a free cruise on Seaview so I'm going again, but even without winning it, I certainly would've booked another MSC cruise for 2018. I think MSC has something for everyone, just go with an open mind, realize it is a different culture/style of vacation than Americans are used to, and go with the goal of having a good time and you should not be disappointed! :D

I've sailed on Divina and all her classmates as well as Preziosa and Sinfonia. To be honest, I can't recall one from the other, bar Sinfonia which is not in the same class. They are all beautiful ships. I think where the Divina is different is that she has been positioned for the US market for the past few years and the experience 'tweaked' for the US market. Certainly, from reviews on CC, the food, especially the steaks, seems better(subjective but I mean more hearty) that the MSC ships sailing in the Med, also water served at mealtime etc. You're taking quite a leap in booking 21 day on Divina for your first MSC cruise. I really hope you like it and I think you will. Ken

I will add to the chorus that the Divina is a beautiful ship. It has been a few years since I sailed on the Divina but I was very impressed with the ship's style and thought the crew was great. The passengers were an international mix, which I liked.

We took our 1st cruise with MSC Divina in the Mediterranean almost 3 years ago. It was MSC's newer ships at that time together with MSC Preziosa. I've got nothing to compare it with but the ship was impressive. Our interior cabin very nice and comfortable. The theater rivals most theater venues on land. The staircase in the Atrium is MSC's signature Swarovski crystals.

Food at the buffet restaurant is very good. Lots of variety as long as you observe meal times. Pizza is the best 20 hours a day. Sometimes finding a seat for more than 4 people is a challenge. Food portions at the MDR is small. I'm told you can request two orders but didn't try. Food at the MDR are good (not great).

There are lots of activities during sea days and port days and night time. The pools are usually crowded during sea days.

If you are travelling with younger kids, the casino is located before the theater. Smoking is allowed in the casino so you will get smoking smell when you go and watch the evening shows.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Buffet restaurant staff will occasionally ask you if you would like to purchase a drink package. If you don't want to, just politely answer "no" and will not hassle you.

During our cruise, there were more European (Spanish, Italian, German, Russian, French) speakers than English. Staff and Crew understands English.

We sailed Divina last August after mostly NCL. Ship is large like BA size but never felt crowded other than the buffet.

Covered forward pool, main pool, aft adults pool. Plenty of bars, food good. Booked two on Seaside.

Hi all,

I have booked a Med cruise on Divina this year, looking forward to it as absolutely loved Splendida her sister ship. Only thing I am a bit worried about is the entertainment Last year on Armonia ,I thought the entertainment was awful..although enjoyed the rest of the cruise. The latest reviews on CC for Divina are not very good--fingers crossed for more positive ones to come along.

WE sailed on the Divina on Oct. 2017. Based on the experience , we booked the Seaside this past April and had a great time. we have been loyal to NCL but might be changing .We were treated well and the ships are beautiful. something for everyone
