Threedox Posted May 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2018 We are cruising to Bermuda on the Summit (May 20-27), and I was wondering if there are shops on the ship (e.g., clothing, sundries). Thanks.
keep on cruisin Posted May 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2018 Yes. They have all the normal shops you would expect. Liquour. Jewelry. Celebrity merchandise. And yes sundries.
leaveitallbehind Posted May 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2018 All Celebrity ships have similar shops on board that will provide the items you reference.
Alakegirl Posted May 15, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2018 The variety of “sundries” isn’t the same ship to ship.....some have quite a few OTC medicines, other have almost none. Some have hairspray, some don’t. Same with safety pins. These are just a few of the things we have searched for on ships
Rare 1025cruise Posted May 15, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 15, 2018 Just keep in mind the shops will be closed while docked in Bermuda.

Rare cruisestitch Posted May 15, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 15, 2018 As an example -- there's a product called MotionEze that sells at Walmart for about $4, and on Eclipse for about $16. There was no hairspray for sale in the shops, nor even at the Salon on Eclipse in January. Oddly, though, the Neosporin was about the same price as my local drugstore. It really does vary. Rare hcat Posted May 15, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 15, 2018 There was a great drug store in the Bermuda port...nice tee shirts too!
alcpa1 Posted May 15, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 15, 2018 Been on the Summit 4 times as recently as December and the offerings in the shops are not terrific. There will be your usual $10 purse sales and pashmina sales and watch sales but not much beyond a poor selection of Estee Lauder and Clinique and perfumes, overpriced jewelry, tee shirts, cover-ups. Probably the most beneficial shop is for liquor with prices often lower than stateside but not as low as Caribbean ports. Oh, I forgot to mention the art auction store with faux Fabrege eggs....shame on me.

Threedox Posted May 15, 2018 Author #11 Share Posted May 15, 2018 And the prices will be high... Why are the shops closed while the ship is docked?
Alakegirl Posted May 15, 2018 #12 Share Posted May 15, 2018 They need to abide by local laws, local taxes, local requirements while in port. They would no longer be “tax and duty fre”for one thing
