gordylad Posted June 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2018 Never been on the millenium class ships and wonder if there is a benefit to booking these 2C cabins as I notice they are on deck 6 so would assume some noise from below? Thanks
PelicanLvr Posted June 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2018 Was in 6028 on Connie in the Adriatic. No noise at all from below which actually (pleasantly) surprised me. Great cabin.
Xport Posted June 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2018 While it may or may not matter to you, you should be aware that... On Millennium Class ships, standard balcony cabins--including those in Category 2-C--feature 170 square feet of interior space... Balcony cabins in the Concierge Class and Aqua Class categories feature 191 square feet of interior space... On Solstice Class ships, balcony cabins in all categories--standard, Concierge Class, and AquaClass-- feature 194 square feet of interior space... If the interior space difference is not material to you, the "Sweet Sixteen" staterooms seem to be popular, and comparatively, tend to be well priced; I have never personally sailed in one... cluso Posted June 15, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 15, 2018 If you get the more forward sweet 16's, yes we had noise from the theater in multiple cabins we stayed in. During afternoon practice and during shows. Usually Big Band, Rock Themes, etc--the louder shows are what we heard. Also, if it is a problem for you, the forward/bow of the ship has more movement...depending on the cruise/weather/sea conditions. :o
phoenix_dream Posted June 15, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 15, 2018 We have had Sweet Sixteen cabins closer to the elevators and never had any issues with noise. Loved the larger balconies (but as was said, smaller staterooms than CC or AQ), and loved being close to the forward elevators which except during show beginning/end were never crowded. There is definitely more motion forward than midship, and IMHO even more than aft (or maybe it just feels different - I definitely feel it more in forward cabins than aft). Wine-O Posted June 15, 2018 #8 Share Posted June 15, 2018 If you have a Sweet 16 balcony, folks above you can see down on that portion of your balcony that is not covered by the balcony above. In other words, you can't go out to the rail in your undies. ;p
