CLQ919 Posted June 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2018 We will be cruising on NCL Escape soon and my son is now too old for the Kids club (where he would meet a lot of friends). What sort of things can he do on the Escape? Thank you in advance!!

FLcruisergrl Posted June 17, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2018 I haven’t been on the Escape, but having been a cruiser at that age and looking at the deck plans: lay by the pool water slides ropes course sports court hot tubs mini golf find a quiet space and read Escape room Spice H2O Games in O’Sheehans It really depends on what type of guy he is- does he like sports? Quiet time? There are a ton of options, just leave out the alcohol! No, there’s nothing like the teen club for him, but thinking back, there was no teen club when I cruised through my teen years. He’ll probably find a group of young adults and they’ll spend their time hanging out.

dexddd Posted June 17, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Just off Escape with 19 y/o. That is a bit tough age. There were solo gatherings in studio lounge and spice h2o is adults only during the day. The brew house is adults only and at night had piano player playing great songs and engaging. mjkacmom Posted June 17, 2018 #9 Share Posted June 17, 2018 On our Gem cruise last year my 19 and 20 year olds went to the young adult meet up every night and formed a nice friend group, plus I signed the waiver for them to drink beer and wine. Videophile Posted June 17, 2018 #10 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Drink beer or wine with your permission. Gamble in the casino. Flirt with women. He’s 19 and on vacation! Exactly what I was thinking! And I'd let him spread his wings a bit. It's a safe environment and if he makes some bad choices, better on the ship than on land.

zqvol Posted June 19, 2018 #19 Share Posted June 19, 2018 Pretty much anything any adult can do except drink "hard" liquor. He need not worry about finding friend there are lots of people in his age group on almost every sailing. Watch the dailes for a meet and greet just for the 18 - 21 year olds. fshagan Posted June 20, 2018 #20 Share Posted June 20, 2018 When one of our daughters was 19 she was part of our adult group and stayed with us most of the time and did the things we did. She's more like me and not the type to go to some singles mixer and talk to total strangers. My wife would be totally comfortable doing that. She meets people in the bathroom at Disneyland and gets their life story in five minutes. Me, not so much. If he had a good time with the teen group in the past then the young adult / singles get together could be good. Or he may decide to hang with you guys. It's the start of a new type of relationship with your kids at this age, and the transition can be tough for parent and child. But, since our job is to work ourselves out of the job of parenting, it's really nice to realize that your grown children can also be your friends. dexddd Posted June 20, 2018 #22 Share Posted June 20, 2018 Adult is 18+, he would’ve been fine. I was mentioning that the OP's over 18 y/o would be fine in the brewhouse as something to do. Also, our over 18 y/o is a she.
dexddd Posted June 20, 2018 #23 Share Posted June 20, 2018 He is an adult. See my prior post. Per NCL and other cruiselines, "Adult" varies widely by age depending on the venue/activity. Excursions for "adults" are much younger or vice versa "child" pricing ends much younger. Adults for booze packages out of US is 21 except for beer/wine. Rare sprint180 Posted June 23, 2018 #24 Share Posted June 23, 2018 Not much help with escape but my children. Now age 20 - 30 have never gone to a kids club but always found something to do. Will he be alone or with siblings? My kids were always together so that is easier. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
