cruisin'4fun Posted August 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2018 We have been on 16 cruises, I wish that every night at any given time that the ship could turn off all the bright lights on the lito deck so everyone could star gaze! There is probably somesort of maritime law preventing it but it would be awesome if they would or could, even for just 30 minutes.Just as everyone wants to see the sun rise or see the sunset, Nothing beats a star filled sky! Come on Carnival, give us something special to remember,
tidecat Posted August 1, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2018 Your best bet would be after 2 AM - at that point the bridge can turn off all of the balcony lighting. Sent from my eye phone using a three legged yak FFS
cruisin'4fun Posted August 1, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted August 1, 2018 They could but they never have.I'm sure that if they put it in the Fun Times people would stay up just for the starshow. Just my opinion
Towel Critter Posted August 1, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2018 I'd be happy if my neighbors would just turn off their balcony lights.
Joebucks Posted August 1, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 1, 2018 On my last cruise on the Fascination, I went up to the top deck by the putt putt. It was pretty dark by the front of the ship at night. It was beautiful.
Rare shof515 Posted August 1, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 1, 2018 jump ship to other cruise lines. I remember reading that Princess or some other cruise lines does this at night

beachbum53 Posted August 1, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 1, 2018 Try this , or an inside cabin next time around :). Unless you have X-ray vision, you wouldn't be able to see the stars if you're wearing one of these.
mjktg99 Posted August 1, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 1, 2018 On my last cruise on the Fascination, I went up to the top deck by the putt putt. It was pretty dark by the front of the ship at night. It was beautiful. Also very hard to walk because of the wind. But I stood up there for a while myself. cruisin'4fun Posted August 1, 2018 Author #11 Share Posted August 1, 2018 Why would they not due this? They would let us late night people something to see and something to remember.Something to separate themselves from the others, not to mention more sales. It was beautiful.Yep, there's usually places in front of ship that are very dark, we find those places and spend a little time there at least once on each cruise. RWolver672 Posted August 1, 2018 #14 Share Posted August 1, 2018 The best place for star gazing is the bow of the ship, especially if there is a full moon. And being the front of the ship, it's so quiet up there. Windy, but quiet.
Gamecock_Cruiser Posted August 1, 2018 #15 Share Posted August 1, 2018 On the Fantasy glass ships, the walk way out front of the Putt Putt course is the BEST spot to do this! I could spend all night out there looking into the horizon on star light night.
evandbob Posted August 1, 2018 #16 Share Posted August 1, 2018 In another thread, Chengpk has said that maritme regs require just a few 60 Watt light bulbs lit on the ship at night. Carnival and most other lines' ships are quite lit up throughout the night. I don't know a reason why the ships' lights aren't dimmed. It's been a very rare cruise where I've been able to glimpse the Milky Way. Usually, all I can spot are a few bright stars or planets. The light pollution on a normal ship obliterates any stargazing attempts. I wish I could remember which ship or line offers star gazing with low light and telescopes available. Disney maybe? Anyone?
