Havana not enforced

From what I have been told the colors of the wrist bands change often. So it would be very hard to guess what was going to be used on your cruise.

They switch back and forth between two colors, both of which were available on eBay.

These kinds of things are no-win scenarios for Carnival. If people sneak in, others get mad. If Carnival makes people wear a wristband, some will get mad. Some people just want it so they aren't inconvenienced, period. Easier said than done.

Exactly, Carnival is doing their best to walk the line of keeping everyone happy. They have never been good at it, but they are hoping that some tight roping will make you happy enough to not complain and the person sneaking into Havana also not complain that some door guard was rude to them.

Really? That doesnt make much since not sure why they wouldnt do atleast 4 colors

or perhaps just embed chips in those who purchased?

But seriously, at some point down the road, Carnival will have the ability to track all passengers location on the ship and will know. It will be mostly for marketing purposes, but could be used safety drills, admission to restricted areas, public restrooms, etc.

Make sure to research various alcohol smuggling options while you're on there as well.

Amazon is a better place to find those. Fake shampoo, rum runners, wine recorking and shrinkwrap. Lots of good methods that are cheap and all work very well.

Why?
Since you said you were going on Ebay right after finding out about the bracelets, you basically implied that you were going to possibly purchase them. If you're going to attempt to break one rule, why not smuggle as well and break another. Thus, my comment.

Nah, Amazon is the place to get those. They work most every time! :*
Well aware of where to get those items and they do not interest me in the least. I will either pay for Cheers or get an included drinks package on other lines. This way I am not limited to whiskey and blank or vodka and blank. But, if it floats your boat, go for it.

I’m surprised by these responses; the Havana area — whether underutilized or not — is advertised and priced as an “exclusive” section of the ship. If I’m paying for this, I think it’s reasonable to expect enforcement of this exclusivity, to be frustrated if it is not, and to expect folks to abide by conditions of use (i.e., wearing the bracelet).

I’m sorry you are disappointed and that Carnival has not responded in a helpful way. I’d take it up the chain were I you.

Agree

I’m so confused - fake shampoo? What’s a rum runner? Couldn’t care less if anyone smuggles alcohol, but I don’t know what any of these things are and am curious. I guess I could just go look on Amazon...

Not a fair critique .. It's not even possible to make everyone happy in any given situation. lol

Weeelllllll, we have spent $3500 for a Havana cabana (quite a bit more than a regular balcony would be) on the Vista and if there are people coming through without the bracelets I will be ticked!!!! It’s bad enough that they took out the swings....

nor the military. Nobody is going to get shot for trespassing. :D

Carnival can't enforce 100% of the time. I'm going to check out Ebay, too!

I am sorry, but if I pay for an "exclusive" area and you do not...you should be kicked out. Trying to get around the rules by purchasing a wristband on Ebay is reprehensible. The rules are there for a reason, and trying to get around them is wrong.

I wouldn't waste my time or money looking for a bracelet since we already know how lax Carnival is on enforcing rules.

As for smuggling alcohol, clearly you don't know me, or anything about me.

A third option, and I believe what most people do, is purchase individual cocktails. It is cheaper for most, and you are not limited to drinking blanks.

A fourth option is the Drinks on Us program via the casino.

If I pay for a balcony, I shouldn't smell anyone smoking (anything) on an adjacent balcony. Or smoking anywhere they shouldn't. Or people sharing Cheers. Or virtually any suggestion/rule Carnival may have.

Carnival has rules because some people want them. Carnival has selective enforcement because some people don't. It's a compromise.

That's a great idea.. Don't forget to stop by the gift shop and shove a few cartons of smokes under your over sized sweatshirt..Free Cigs taste better

Yeah, they're so bad at keeping people happy that their ships continue to sail full, their corporate stock and earnings continue to do well, and people love to come back for repeat cruises. :halo:

Rum runners are a bag that you can put liquid in & I think people say they don't show up on xray. I've never seen one in person, but the pic I saw reminded me of an IV bag. Supposedly, you can buy bottles that say shampoo, mouthwash, etc. on the label & you put your booze in them. Again, I've never seen one in person, but apparently there is a market for them. I just factor the cost of drinks into my budget, just as I would an excursion or souvenir money. I'd hate to be the person that holds up the line because my rum runner was discovered. Plus, I don't drink enough to be willing to work that hard to smuggle on alcohol. I take my allowed bottle of wine & buy the rest.

I agree 100%. If Carnival was as bad as indicated by posts on this and other websites, they would not be able to fill their ships (now 26 of them), week after week, month after month, etc. They would also not have the large number of Diamonds, Platinums and Golds that sail on Carnival again and again.
