Thanks for the dance video, M! Made us both smile. Spins, I'm definitely ready for a reboot. And thanks for the appreciation, DW.

First week of working from home almost done, with a few rough patches, but overall it went well. Should get smoother next week, then back to the ICU the week after. Hoping the curve stays flat, and all of you are staying safe as well!

Just saw that Delta has extended its penalty-free cancellation through June, so we can cancel our China flights now without a penalty. If we end up with e-credit, we can probably use it to book flights for our November Ponant cruise (assuming they can cruise at that point - who knows?) Luckily we don't have to do anything about that just yet - can sit tight and see if they cancel the flights outright or not. Decisions...

Just a PSA... if Delta actually cancels your flight, then you can get a cash refund.  I realize this may not apply to you at the moment since you indicated "you" can cancel the flight.  In that case, yes, you are going to be issued whatever Delta calls their travel funds.

Yup, I will wait until the last minute, as a refund is always a better deal than a future credit. Who knows if we'll even be cruising in November? Don't want to trade one set of flights that I can't use for another...

Friday! Week one of working from home down.

Simple dinner tonight, meat and potato. Filet wrapped in bacon... Because everything is better with bacon!

Cooked rare. And with a delicious seared salt and pepper crust. Last time I made these I overcooked them. Not today!

The chives were actually from the herb garden. That plant has come back every year, better than ever!

Not shown was the token vegetable.

Apropos, I thought:

We did our part. This juicy flavorful bottle went well with the filet.

Off to watch a movie before calling it a night.

Today is Chris's Dad's 85th birthday. We were going to go see him this weekend, but his assisted living facility is still closed to visitors. Maybe we will get there in a month or two. At least we got to talk for a few minutes.

Have a safe and relaxing weekend, all!

A friend sent this to me.

Our stocks have crashed, we get <1.0% on any fixed deposits, and our retirement funds are disappearing. Fires and floods. And now, a virus pandemic.  The downturn is hitting everybody really hard!  Things couldn’t be much worse judging by this:

·        In NY I saw a Mormon with only one wife ...

         Exxon-Mobil lays off 25 US Congressmen ...

·        If the bank returns your check marked "Insufficient Funds," you call them and ask if they meant you or them

·        McDonald's is selling the 1/4 ouncer ...

·        Angelina Jolie adopted a child from America ...

·        My cousin had an exorcism but couldn't afford to pay for it, so they re-possessed her.

·        A truckload of Germans was caught sneaking into Syria

·        A picture is now only worth 200 words ...

·        The Treasure Island Casino in Las Vegas is now managed by Somali pirates ...

·        And, finally ...

I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called the Suicide Hotline. I got a call centre in Pakistan - and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.
