Rare John&LaLa Posted August 11, 2018 #28 Share Posted August 11, 2018 Ours is a casino deal as well. We have paid this far. $190 in port fees and $588 for the balcony. This would be to upgrade to the JS. But like you mentioned, regardless the price is still almost $1000. I did call yesterday and a GS is $1407. Sent from my iPhone using Forums On Allure, go with GS. Still under $2,400 total. Perks going way up. Reminds me I need to call and check casino cost upgrade for Oadis in January. What number are you calling Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Cruisegirl6 Posted August 11, 2018 #31 Share Posted August 11, 2018 Coastal Kitchen isn't much better than the MDR but you do get a small private area to eat and JS generally do not have priority on reservations (you should have reservations). Your only able to use it for dinner. What we received having JS: We waited in the suite area before boarding, they have coffee, juice, pastries to eat there. Earlier boarding (if your emerald or platinum going on the ship this way is just a handful of minutes later than the suite) Upgraded bathroom amenities (soap, body lotion, etc) Robes Bathtub/shower combo Coffee maker Double Points Higher gratuities (no biggie just a few dollars more per person a day)

My boyfriend just called because he didn’t believe me that the W was more than the JS and low and behold the rep he spoke to the guarantee is $670. So now it’s a little different. Regardless, we are still getting Voom so add $210 to that price since GS comes with that. So technically the $670 in my eyes is $880 since the probability of it being anything more than a JS is slim. Cruisegirl6 Posted August 11, 2018 #36 Share Posted August 11, 2018 That price you would pay for an upgrade can be the money for another cruise.
stleda124 Posted August 11, 2018 Author #37 Share Posted August 11, 2018 We have decided to upgrade to W for $670. Wait for room assignment. If it is a JS. Then we will pay for upgrade to GS. No point in not trying our lucky at that guarantee price first. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

We are okay with that gamble for the currently price difference. The two other times we booked a guarantee, we were assigned within 24 hours. We are hoping that trend continues so that we can then upgrade if it is a JS like we assume it will be. If we are booked in a JS and can’t upgrade, we will be happy with the JS at that price. stleda124 Posted August 18, 2018 Author #42 Share Posted August 18, 2018 Okay. So we waiting and tonight upgrade to the suite guarantee as we were looking at several price drops. Thank goodness because the price dropped to $2. Yes $2 to upgrade to a suite guarantee. With that said, our reservation now says #GTY and we wait. If we do get lucky enough (doubtful) to get something other than a JS, do we get the other perks with it or no? Coastal kitchen all day, thermal suite access, free room service, etc? TIA!
