Thanks for posting the Chops menu. I thought they couldn’t guarantee dietary restrictions at the specialty restaurants (only the mdr) but it looks like they can at Chops. We may have to try them on our Nov 25th cruise.

I want to thank you Andrew for taking the time to do this live review.

Hope you enjoyed Mamma Mia! What did Owen think of it? I had my 17-year-old grandsons with me when I saw it last year and, even though they didn’t know the songs, they really enjoyed it. We had a top notch cast last time and I’m hoping the cast for my Halloween sailing can measure close to the bar they set.

Three of my family that will be sailing with me have never been on a mega ship so they’ve left everything up to me. Plan on eating at Chops (how was it?) and Giovanni’s. I’m hoping they will enjoy this cruise. And I’m hoping you and your family have a great cruise

Now for the food.

Lisa and O each had the Caesar Salad.

I on the other hand. My Apps, all three.

Owen and I each had the petite and Lisa had the regular filet. Cooked perfectly. Cut with a spoon.

For sides fries, baked potato, mashed and mac and cheese.

And then there was dessert.

Cheese cake for Lisa and Owen and and lemon sorbet for me. Our waiter Roberto was spot on.

Suite Lounge Concereige Dexter happen to stop in recognized us from two years ago and came over to say hello. At least now we don’t have to break into the SL to say high to him.

No worries. Glad to give back, after all many others do it as well. My understanding is specialty dining can be quite accommodating. Ourusualbeach’s wife had dietary concerns and they have been very easy to work with. Maybe Ken can chime in.

Chops: pork strip, filet mignon

Close.

At least there’s nothing with raisins for you to worry about.:D

The raisins evil cousin, the dried cranberry.

Grill Asparagus

Jimbo:)

Mother Nature’s practical joke.

Hi Judy. He lasted to intermission. Considering the long couple of days he did very well. As for a Chops I mentioned it above, was great. Giovanni’s tomorrow so a report will follow later. We will have a blast and I am sure your family will as well.

If you have a chance could you take a few pics of the casino. That's one of my favorite places to hang out.

TIA

TIA, I wish I could but they get “funny” about pictures of the tables and the machines. They don’t care though if you take regular pictures around the ship with people in them.

Best...thread...ever. Man, you take this live reporting seriously. I’m addicted! My family of 18 will be on the Allure in 2019. I noticed in your “mixing with the masses” post that passengers were waiting in the elevator/stair landing until they opened staterooms. What time did they do that, and was time consistent with your other RC sailings? Keep up the great writing!

They opened at exactly 1pm. There was the initial rush and that was it. Honestly people were all over the ship. Just the OCD were waiting. Thanks for the kind words.

They are awake and look what’s outside our window. I think I can see out balcony.

Andrew, when we were there in December there was construction going on behind the hotel. I'm assuming the tall building to the right of LA Fitness is what it looks like now. Is this part of the hotel?

We also had a view of the port from our room but this looks even better. What room did you have? We have an upcoming cruise and would love to have this view.

Thanks

You are right that is the new building. There was no action in it yet but it looks close to completion. We were in room 612, top floor. It had two doubles and a pullout. It was a tub shower VS their standard shower. The room seemed a bit wider too. Not beside the elevator, but a couple past. Ice was on 5.

When we were at the Hyatt two weeks ago, we had practically the identical view from our room. It was 508. We watched Allure sail away that Sunday. Well at least the Deck 17 portion of her. Also tub/shower combo and could sleep 6. The room was larger than I expected.

Thank you. We were on the 5th floor last time. We travel with a child so love the rooms with double beds and pullout couch.

Bon Voyage to you, Lisa and Owen.

After dinner is slipped back to the cabin while Lisa and Owen went to get seats for Mama Mia. We left a note for our steward and our requests were met.

As well as ice. He also took away the extra hangers we didn’t need.

Speaking of items not needed, we must be getting the mail for the original person in this cabin. Their TA letter and their kid must be a teen. No kids club compass for Owen. We will ask for that tomorrow.

I met our Steward, hilarious guy from Jamaica. He knows a few of the stewards we have met on over the years. Some have moved to other ships, moved on and a couple are still on board. We will find them this week.

Our room has a bit of an odour, and not that of too much fried beans from Sabor. It smells like someone either masked their smoking or spilled some perfume. He said he will see about some special cleaning tomorrow.

The AC also seems be at 1/4 power so will will leave a note for that. Coming from the country where all live in igloos you can understand my concern.

I’ll post a pic of the room tomorrow with Owens bed pulled out. It’s like a human maze, or Tetris getting around with everything pulled out. Lord knows how a family of 4 does it, or four adults.

Tight squeeze in there [emoji15]

What does Owen think of the balcony cabin?

Love this house with its own flow-rider wave. I have never seen it on. Travesty.

Meanwhile, the sail away dance party was happening. I was waiting for Rick to appear when the wobble came on.

I am enjoying and following along as we are on next week's sailing.

Did you have expedited arrival? This is new to us and I'm interested in hearing from others that may have used it.

Thanks. It said expedited on ours with a 2pm arrival time. We showed up at 10:30. I wonder if it is code for Diamond or D+? I don’t have a really answer.

For those curious Lisa has burned through another couple of episodes. Between that, Outlander, and a mix of Bachelor/ette drivel I can only imagine her dreams this week. I might be lucky or in big trouble. That could be the same thing. ;)

On that note...

Tomorrow we are off in Nassau to avoid Atlantis, the resort so overrun it will never be lost.
