lives to cruise Posted September 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2018 Hi, we will be in our first suite next March and one of the amenities listed is "Enhanced nightly turn-down service". Would someone please tell me what this means? What is different from standard turn down service? Thanks in advance.

CruiseLurker Posted September 3, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 3, 2018 We got the same turn down service as being in any other room with some chocolate dipped strawberries instead of the normal chocolates. Nice, but not a big deal.
land lover Posted September 3, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 3, 2018 OP...I would actually ask princess on land and then my room attendant once on board.....We have had suites since CC class began and have found nothing different about turn down. But then again I have not read the amenities list in a long time. Here's a guess 2 chocolates instead of one;);) or did they give us choc covered strawberries a time or 2. moki'smommy Posted September 3, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 3, 2018 We were in a suite in August and in April 2018 after other Princess cruises in non-suites. There were no more chocolate strawberries on formal nights; we got small chocolates--6 on a large plate. The turn down service did not appear to be any different other than getting a bottle of water for each person in the room. The bed was turned down with a wrapped chocolate on each pillow. The bottles of water were on the counter. Any necessary messages, like turn the clocks ahead, were also on the pillow.
JF - retired RRT Posted September 3, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 3, 2018 Another snarky answer to a legitimate question. If you do not know the answer then stay out of it. I would like to know the answer also. I saw the "snarky" comment and I LOL. His answer was "nothing" and followed with what I thought was a funny comment about inviting the Captain to your suite. Oh Well...I thought it was funny, but I have a twisted sense of humor.

jagsfan Posted September 3, 2018 #9 Share Posted September 3, 2018 It’s wonderful to walk back in after dinner to see the bed remade after my afternoon nap, chocolate candy on my pillow, fresh ice in the bucket, the Room Service tray from our afternoon snack gone, and the bathroom tidy. It’s already one of the best things about cruising. I, too, would love to know how anything could enhance it. elliair Posted September 3, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 3, 2018 I must be missing something. Yours is second post where was the snarky answer? LOL! The OP must be anticipating a snarky answer. I would imagine the cabin steward would tuck you in, or show you to your suite if you have indulged too much. Only 2 things I can come up with would enhance it for me.
Poulsbo Cruisers Posted September 3, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 3, 2018 We were in a suite last September. The enhanced turn down service was two chocolates each. :')
land lover Posted September 3, 2018 #12 Share Posted September 3, 2018 (edited) a full suite, or a mini suite ( as the CC might indicate ) Princess really needs to change the category known as mini "suite", huh ?:halo: or do they?? Talking suite...seems I always need to write more detail for you:D;) or maybe less. I wrote CC because, new descriptions were made for full suites at the time CC was implemented. And prior to that my suite experiences would not matter...would they???? There is no need for Princess to change CAT names.....long time cruisers have it straight and others that are new or confused should be reading other information besides CC. Thrak Posted September 3, 2018 #13 Share Posted September 3, 2018 I have to admit I have also wondered what the heck that phrase meant. Sounds as if nobody really knows. Weird.
Coffeeluvr05 Posted September 3, 2018 #14 Share Posted September 3, 2018 I’ve been on a suite and a regular cabin on Princess and would also like to know. We are in a suite in our upcoming cruise (10 days!!!) and maybe I will find out! I need to make a list of things people always ask the questions about and get them answered but I can’t remember them all. Yes, let the new people figure out what CC means. Captains' Circle or Cruise Critic or Club Class or Credit Card.
DeRon Posted September 3, 2018 #16 Share Posted September 3, 2018 I actually asked called Princess with some questions, and I threw in this one about enhanced. She just described a normal turndown. I said what was the enhanced part, and she said it’s just more special?? Huh?? Haha. I dropped it. She didn’t know either. elliair Posted September 4, 2018 #19 Share Posted September 4, 2018 On embarkation day, we tell our cabin steward no turn downs at night, only come in in the morning and give us fresh towels. We like to sit out on our balcony and enjoy the ocean, have some wine, get dressed and go to dinner. I can't eat the chocolates so our steward leaves them in the morning. It's not a big deal to us, we're low maintenance cruisers.

lives to cruise Posted September 4, 2018 Author #22 Share Posted September 4, 2018 lol, Thanks everyone for all your replies. Hummmmm, having the Captain escort us to our suite would be fun. ;) Chocolate or strawberries. Chocolate or strawberries. Decisions, decisions. Not sure I want anyone tucking me into bed. :D Guess we will have to wait and see.
Thrak Posted September 4, 2018 #23 Share Posted September 4, 2018 Might be nice if they left a Drambuie by my side of the bed and a Grand Marnier by my wife's side. Of course we will never be able to sail in a suite anyway so it's a moot point for us. I'd still like to know what this marketing hype really means though. If it does mean anything at all. DrivesLikeMario Posted September 4, 2018 #24 Share Posted September 4, 2018 I've always wondered this too because I've never noticed a difference in suites. I guess it's just more meaningless rhetoric. Sorry, OP, but it's nothing but the usual turn-down service which is awesome IMO. Love having the cabin steward straighten up in the evenings. When we take land vacations and they don't do that, we're like, "Hey! Where's our cabin steward?!" :)
bobby3334 Posted September 4, 2018 #25 Share Posted September 4, 2018 Perhaps like enhanced lotions, etc for elites and suites...maybe name brand chocolates. Mike Sent from my iPhone using Forums
