I agree about HAL's bolognese sauce. I think it d elicious and I hardly ever eat meat sauce at home. I often have that for lunch in LIDO on embarkation day

The custom omelets--only a few minutes wait on the Maasdam.

The salad bar--with plenty of bleu cheese & bleu cheese dressing!

One night they had a superb spinach, mushroom, goat cheese strudel. I could eat that every day.

As for desserts...I'd say the absolute best were the flourless chocolate cake with raspberry sauce,

and the chocolate mousse. I did try quite a few. :p

Breakfast I don’t really do but I’ve been known to partake in the odd sticky bun with my morning coffee. Also there are those yoghurt and granola sundae glasses made up which are very nice .

 

Lunch is always a salad bowl. Feta cheese, lettuces, cucumber, corn, peppers, mandarin segments and a teeny amount of dressing. I’m also a fan of the pre-made sandwiches any will eat any of the vegetarian ones ... sometimes two :D

I love all the berry-type pie/tart desserts! Blueberry, strawberry...if it has a crumb topping, all the better!!!

Muesli for breakfast, sushi for lunch, Dungeness crab cakes in the PG, lobster in the PG, um, mostly everything really. Bonus - no cooking for me! Come on, December!

Sticky buns but I wait till the end of my cruise. And definitely the Bolognese!!!! I try to do mostly do low carb so I just ask for a few ladles of the sauce and have it with no pasta!!!

Pea soup is the bomb. Also the schnitzel and we are picky since we live in German Mennonite country.

My mother's standard cruise breakfast is a bowl of Cheerios and bacon. She laughs that the oats in the Cheerios cancel out any cholesterol in the bacon.

Those small plates at lunch and dinner, assorted cheeses and dried fruits and nuts, neat small veggie samples (Mmmmm, fennel and eggplant) and other mystery sort of things. Always an adventure.
